UGA had the stars align this year. Flips and the emergence of justin fields which if I remember correctly was A 3 star Penn st commit for the longest

Hes been pretty solid for awhile. Clemson is also putting together a very impressive class as well.

Absolutely. They have 2 less commits than us and a higher star average.

Correct me if I’m wrong Latu and Anoma are projected at Jack. Where is Jackson, JJ and Walker projected. does anyone know who we have behind them?

We may swing back through there during that time. We are going to Columbus this weekend and Jackson the following weekend.

I need to hit up Bear88 on Saturday. I'll be in Caledonia at my sister-in-laws place that afternoon. Maybe even crash Mi Toros for supper seeing as it's the only restaurant in town.

My estimation:
ILBs: Peterson, Jackson
Sam: Walker, Jackson

One surprise signing we could have on Friday is that of Arlington (Texas) Lamar four-star defensive tackle Bobby Brown. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Brown decommitted from Texas A&M on Wednesday. There are rumors that Brown could ink on Friday, but nothing has been confirmed yet. If Brown, the nation’s No. 168 overall prospect, does decide to sign, look for Alabama to be the team that receives his National Letter of Intent.

247Sports dissects the skill set of new Alabama commit and 2019 Top247 safety, Brendan Gant, who also heavily considered Florida State.

Name: Brendan Gant

Class: 2019

Position: Safety

Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 185 Pounds

Location/School: Lakeland (Fla.) Kathleen

Committed to: Alabama Crimson Tide

247Sports Composite Ranking: Eighth-Ranked Safety | 122nd-Ranked Player Overall | 20th-Ranked Player in Florida

Scouting Report:

Gant is a rangy defender who does a good job of extending out and attacking the ball at its highest point. He plays with that swagger you want in your secondary, and also does a nice job of striking and getting his nose dirty with physicality. Gant is a bouncy defender who is light on his feet as well.

You also have to take notice of Gant's fluidity when operating in his backpedal. He does a good job of sinking his hips and playing with technique, and is fleet-footed with the ability to cover a lot of ground in a hurry. Gant changes direction with ease, and does a good job of bursting out of his backpedal once dissecting the play. He shows no wasted movement when assisting in coverage and gets to his spot in a hurry.

Gant has really shown improvement with open-field tackling as well. He does a nice job of breaking down and playing under control, and more often than not, wrapping up in space. Attacking with better pad level is something to focus on throughout the offseason, but Gant is just a junior. Swinging his head around faster will only enhance his number in the interception column as well.

Overall, Gant is a lengthy defender in the back end of the defense who will really fill out nicely over time. He checks in with impressive size for the position, but transitions and operates in space like a smaller defensive back. He is smooth in his backpedal, and then shows off his range by reaching top speed in a hurry. There is a lot to like with Gant.

What if they flip, is there anyone we're after if that happens, specifically Walker and Jackson?

If we get through today without them signing elsewhere, I like our chances of landing them. If we lose a top LB target, the staff might turn up the heat on Harold Joiner. I think Bama will take Ruggs (as blueshirt if spots fill up). Ruggs, bulked up, projects pretty well at SAM.

I think Brown and Coburn would be amazing. I doubt we would take another inside guy if we got those two to add to Barmore. Maybe Friday, but he's a very long shot anyway as I understand. And he may not even be a 0 technique in college.

Regardless, if we get Brown and say, Langham, inked, which as a minimum seems pretty likely at this point, this DL class will have turned out pretty damn solid.

Maybe Harold Joiner will decide he's ok being a linebacker?

Has nothing to do with luck.

I like Moro Ojomo (film) at NT more than Coburn. Coburn looks a bit too short, heavy and slow to be an every-down NT, imo.

Brown just picked up a CB for A&M. I thought he eliminated them from consideration.

Tbh, I sort of forgot about him as an LB prospect. He'd be a good addition to this class, especially if we don't land Walker or Peterson.

The recruiting analyst that put that in was Bud Elliot. He has a 72% accuracy.

That being said, it looks like most A&M mods don't think Texas A&M is in it. And considering he decommitted Wednessday to make a final decision today, it makes no sense to pick A&M again. But what do I know?
