He'll go to A&M. Don't think Sumlin recruited many TE's and Jimbo brought along his TE coach that's highly regarded.

Makes way too much sense at this point. He'll be a key cog in a pro style offense, the only experienced TE, and he's guaranteed 40ish catches a year.

It's always been hard. Who is the last one we got? Hell, we barely get recruits out of Georgia period.

How many years in a row did you expect to have the #1 class? What Bama has done to this point has never been done. Going from #1 for seven consecutive years to a top 3-5 class is not what I would call a drop in production. Damn, our spoiled-arse fans.

Can't lose what you never had. Kirby at UGA is going to hurt AU not us. They are the ones who took what they wanted out of GA.

I have to tip my hat to Kirby.. that’s 6 five stars as of now.. pretty damn impressive. We might finally have some competition in the east. Makes the SEC championship game more fun. I enjoyed playing Tebow

Hell, I'm even more upset that Bobby Brown committed to Texas A&M over us . Hopefully we can get him back, though

Alabama has managed a top five class despite an historically poor instate pool to choose from. It has also managed this despite replacing some damn good recruiters the last 2-3 years.

Losing Cox is bad because he was only in play for anyone not named OSU for a brief period and it looked good for Alabama.

Alabama literally landed a higher ranked player at his position earlier in the day. He would have been icing on the cake and someone you wouldn't have turned down.

Losing Coynis Miller to Auburn also sucks, but it hasn't been a good year at the DT spot.

Of course it does, but it has been a bad year for interior DL period. Alabama will be fine inside with Wynn and Barmore though.

The one where Alabama is the number 1 class for 7 years in a row, and is now second in the conference to a team having a historic recruiting cycle who also happens to neighbor the state

Alabama isn't even finished with their class. And exactly how long did you expect a string of #1 classes to last?

The reality is filling positions of need and development of that talent. The icing is the recruiting rankings. And if you're upset over a top five class, you have issues.

I don't disagree with filling positions of need. Justin Fields and Zamir White belong to UGA and would do little for us. Losing battles for players in positions we do need is not a good thing. Cox has been one of the heaviest recruited players by Alabama this month so there is no question of need.

It isn't the worst thing to not be number 1 because a lot of factors play into that, but it is a little concerning to be second in the conference.

Even that is relative to what site you look at. We have a good class and we aren't done yet. Be interesting to see how we finish when we are able to focus on a few kids.

Alabama didn't always run away with the #1 class in previous years. The difference in 1-3 in the conference was marginal at best.

I know the reasons. Kirby being the top dog on the recruiting trail isn't a major concern. It is however if it becomes the norm in the next few years which is my point.

Bama's problem this year is that the in state talent isn't very good. I don't know the last time the state had a class this bad.

Not in the recruiting rankings era anyway. It is downright bad. Not sure what the reasoning is with a state population of over 5 million.

Forget the numbers and I will ignore you not reading context. Breaking the number 1 class streak is a bummer, but not that big of a deal. It's a small class and will happen eventually. The bigger issue is someone new competing against the same players we want who is doing a better job than Alabama. Maybe this is just a good year for Kirby, but I hope it isn't a trend. Top 5 class is always solid, and for the most part the needs have been met. I think a LB, OL, and DT to close out would be perfect.
