Any chance Bama hired Austin Thomas? He apparently is already leaving Tennessee. Would be a ace recruiter.

I wouldn't hate it, but his impact is lessened as an off the field coach. He was LSU's "General Manager", but he had a waiver to recruit because LSU's DL Coach was so old that he was childhood friends with Methuselah.
Bama does have a spot on staff to hire, but many expect it to be a QB Coach.
He could do work too with the state of Tennessee having a lot of talent in 2019...

I’ve heard nothing but great things of him. LSU was butt hurt for him leaving, great asset to recruiting.

I think he’s also the reason we came in second last year to Jacoby Stevens went to LSU

That's my thought.
He lied to both the NCAA and Saban over an arranged meeting with recruits.
Him owning up to it would have been a very minor punishment compared to what he got...

That's a lot of cooks in the kitchen defensively if they hired him, unless they outright want him as ST Coordinator...

ILB coach. Likely another spot will open up on the defensive side of the ball after the February NSD, too. We'll see. Partridge is a good guess for ILB coach. Would be a good get, IMO.

I forgot . I had read someone alluding to the fact that this was a possibility with line play and lack of recruiting. Who knows
