I looked at his profile a week ago and his composite is the same as it is now. I didn't notice his 247 at that time. Maybe it hasn't been updated?

Alabama lands Top247 RB Jerome Ford
quote:

The question of who will Alabama sign at running back in the 2018 class has now been answered.

Top247 all-purpose back Jerome Ford committed to the Crimson Tide on Sunday over offers from several other programs including Tennessee, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh (among others).

THE ONE @_Romie1
"I want to thank all my family, friends and coaches who’ve supported me and helped me get this far. After 4 years playing for Armwood High School I would like to announce that I’m taking my talents to Tuscaloosa." #RTR  #813

Ford named Alabama his leader after an unofficial visit for the LSU game in November. He returned to the Capstone this weekend for an official visit after originally planning to visit campus on Jan. 19.

The Seffner (Fla.) Armwood back saw all he needed to see and made his decision known. Ford plans to sign early.

At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Ford is rated the No. 14 all-purpose back and the No. 559 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Credit Tide wide receivers coach Mike Locksley who is the primary recruiter for Ford.

With 16 commitments, Alabama's class now ranks as the No. 7 class in the country, per 247Sports Team Rankings.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

I played football/baseball/powerlifted in high school but he is infinitely more talented in all that he does. Not even close, he’s far and away the best athlete in the family.

Yep. I watched a couple of Ford's 2017 game highlights late this morning and saw why the staff wants him. The video TS posted above impressed me too. Excellent vision, great acceleration through tight holes, breakaway speed, evasive in space, shakes and breaks tackles well. Looked really explosive as a receiver and kick returner too. Very good downfield blocker. Made big plays both ways on kickoffs & punts. Kid's a baller! Me likey!

I want to know who is the other running back on the team. He has to be great or the coach just likes Ford on the outside because he is versatile.

The single game highlight videos (Hudl) that I watched this morning showed Ford some at RB. He looked really good -- like Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs is listed on BOL at 5'10" 212 lbs. Ford is listed at 5'11" 195 lbs. Dunno how up to date that info is tho. They are comparable in terms of size and skill set, but Ford may be faster than Jacobs.
