He is 6'3 240 and will probably be a LB or DE. Starting him offense is just going to make him end up like Ronnie Clark.

I see your point, but I think we could use him more like we did Nudie. He could be a fullback/power running back. Ronnie Clark never put on the weight to play that role effectively.

Starting someone on offense is going to make them get injured over and over?

Clark didn't want to play defense, why he lasted as long as he did on that side. It shows, like when Ardarius Stewart practiced at safety, he did not want to do it. He complained about it at the AL-MS game, and last about a week there at Bama.

If Bama can convince Clark to stay for his senior year, that's 4 RB. Bolden could play there too in mop up duty.

Just skip QB and RB this year and take 2 of each next year.

You can always go the grad transfer route for QB or RB for a year.

Yeah, with Jacobs (JR), Najee(SO), Robinson (SO) and Clark (SR), we could just take Bolden and pass on Ford, imo. Robinson is dang good, and Ford seems pretty redundant to Bolden.

With Jalen (JR), Tua (SO) and Mac Jones (RS-FR), we can afford to skip QB -- IF it's certain Tua is staying. And then we can take 2 RBs and 2 QBs in 2019.

I don't think a grad xfer RB or QB would have any interest in coming to Bama.

pass on Ford

Staff wouldn’t take his commitment if they didn’t actually want him. If the kid commits, then I’m going to assume the staff sees something/has a role in mind and will give them benefit of the doubt over us fans whose full knowledge of the kid is based on 5 minute highlight videos

I agree. If the staff takes Ford, I'll trust they see something in him and a need that I don't see.

Doomsday scenario of Tua transferring gives Bama 1 scholarship player behind a running QB.

Doubling up next year makes redshirting both weird, you have to stagger them.

Saban has never not taken a QB, so I don't think it will change. It's too important, even if he's not starter caliber...

I found this in a Paul Tyson article:

At 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Tyson is rated the No. 6 pro-style quarterback and the No. 296 overall player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite.

The father of Louisville RB and grad transfer Jeremy Smith said we were a possible landing spot.

I found this blurb in an article about yesterday's all-star game:

quote:

Alabama quarterbacks Jack West of Saraland was 9-of-17 passing for 71 yards and James Foster of Sidney Lanier finished 1-of-10 for 16 yards. Seth Williams of Paul Bryant had three catches for 48 yards and Justyn Ross of Central-Phenix City had one for 19 yards.

ETA: And he threw a pick down near the red zone.

Someone get to Arizona ASAP and offer that kid a scholarship.
