Silent commitments are just that, nothing official. I wonder how many "silent commitments" we have had in the past that didnt pan out

How solid is 4-star RB Trey Sanders'

Alabama commitment?

Trey Sanders
made a very early commitment to Alabama and he hasn't wavered.

Sanders, just a junior, committed to the Crimson Tide in the spring of 2016 after a visit to the school. Early commitments aren't uncommon, but pledges made before a sophomore year in high school are.

"I'm 100 percent committed," Sanders said after IMG Academy's 32-21 win over Hoover on Friday at the Hoover Met.

"It's about trusting the process. I see what they've done over the years. Growing up, I wasn't a big fan, but once I got there and I saw what they were about, I had to commit."

Sanders moved from Port St. Joe, Fla., to Bradenton to attend IMG Academy before his sophomore season. He is close to Crimson Tide safety Ronnie Harrison and sees his success at Alabama as another positive tool in his recruitment. Sanders plans to graduate high school early and be in Tuscaloosa in the spring of 2019.

Sanders said he is now up to 6-foot-1.5 and 215 pounds. Sanders is a four-star class of 2019 recruit and ranked as the No. 3 running back and No. 28 overall recruit by the 247Sports composite.

"When I get there, I just plan on going there playing running back," Sanders said. "Maybe I'll go play in the slot. Wherever they need me."

I think it’s pretty official when they tell coach Saban they are committing.

Maybe so, I hear the silent commitment thing alot. Anyway Trey Sanders looks to be promising. A borderline 5 star who is getting some good size.

If you are not going to name(which I doubt he knows) or even speculate who they may be why even bother to write about it. Just making it look he knows something and has an inside track.

I am convinced that 99% of the stuff these writers get is from these type of boards here and their insiders are the same so called insiders we have posting and that is who their source is.

Probably because of the doom and gloom guys on boards like this. They're freaking out due to the low number of commits so far. Maybe he's saying that so they will relax a bit.

A lot of these kids have committed to announcing during All American Games. Hell, some of them are in the game just so they can commit. So they might've told Bama they're 100% in, but they have an obligation to announce on TV.

I am not bashing I just think they do not have a clue and make statements like that because they hope to help their e-cred as if they know something when 9 out of 10 times they have no freaking clue.

I would wager most of them only get it right on their predictions right before commit time and they all start changing their CB pick at that time.

The truth is they are the cause for the people who freak out. They talk to someone who is close to the recruit(probably a school bus driver who saw the kid wearing a college shirt) next they have a source and run with it and find out later that had no clue. They pump out all this click bait to be wrong far more times then they are right.

Who was the most heralded recruit during the Saban era? Not what they did in college, but coming out of HS only

We’ve signed quite a few guys that were top 5-15 coming out. Julio Jones, DJ Fluker, Reueben Foster, Dashawn Hand, Najee Harris, Cam Robinson, Mack Wilson, Ben Davis, Trent Richardson, Landon Collins, Rahsaan Evans...I’m forgetting a few but there have been a pile of them.

I know you're asking about the most heralded recruit, but I'm going to just give my opinion on who was the most important recruit.

This is just my opinion, but I believe BJ Scott was the most important recruit. He didn't do much in Tuscaloosa, but he was special in high school. He got the 5star ball rolling in TTown.

I'm hearing that Tyson isn't viewed as a top QB prospect.

Cam Robinson was the #1 recruit in the nation at one point. It was back and forth between he and Fournette.

Interesting thing is they're both on the same team in the NFL. I hope AJ wins his grievance against the Bengals and the Jags sign him if they choose to move on from Bortles.
