We need a great DT bad and he is a damn good one.

No joke. At some point, we're going to be due about 5 seasons of good injury luck. We've been hit as hard this year as any college team in the last few years outside of utk's defense last year.
And the thing is, it's ALWAYS a star. Not that I want to see anybody get hurt regardless of whether they're a superstar or walkon. But it's ALWAYS a star with us.
We're going to have to take it up a notch on offense now. To be honest, if we play a team that has both a good DL AND a good offense, we may be in some trouble.

It's apparent the offense is being geared towards incorporating two athletic tight ends in the way the Patriots used Gronkowski and Hernandez. This explains Ford not being the #1 target. Get a guy who can be split wide as a legitimate big bodied receiver.
Like Gary or not, he was on point last night about tight ends generally not being able to cover enough ground to send on routes that make defenses pay for playing press. However, find an athlete with tight end size (like one who was misused for the past four seasons), and this becomes possible.
