BOL article saying that Fields said him and his family were very impressed with this weekend's visit.

Still not holding out any hope though. We have too much depth at QB

I could be wrong, but doesn't this blurb regarding Justin Fields from BOL mean Auburn is out of it for him:

quote:

With that said, it still seems the Tide is still facing an uphill battle with the current quarterback situation, and other schools focusing on early playing time and the ability to start next year. Florida State and Georgia are also heavily involved and opinions vary which one of those two schools, with Auburn out of the mix, Fields will ultimately sign with. Fields is in no rush to make a decision, and he will possibly make another visit to the Capstone before his final decision.

Harold Joiner quote after his visit yesterday:

quote:

"They (Alabama staff) told me to have fun and enjoy my senior season and they can't wait to coach me," Joiner recalled. I'm their guy."

With Bo and Damien leaving, I can't see why Joiner wouldn't want to come to Bama. He'd be our 4th RB next year.

Wouldn't it make more sense for one of them to leave and one to stay? It's not like either is a projected 1st rounder. Be nice to have one of them back as the veteran next year. Even still, we need a true RB in this class. If that's Joiner, then great.

I would take either one to stay. I like a vet with a soph najee Harris plus Josh Jacobs as a 3rd option would be dynamite. Besides our receiving corps is looking bright

I wouldn't be surprised if Harris stayed. Bo has been out of HS for 4 years(prep school for one year). He should go.

I look for the recruiting board to be reshuffled tomorrow (actually heard this). Could be some names move way up our target list. I'd be surprised if Adam Anderson isn't one.

Factoring in the corruption of major college athletics and the increasing safety concerns, I honestly think college football as we know it may cease to exist before LSU is able to dig itself out of the grave it dug for itself with incompetence.

tLSU melt is still strong. I'm wondering if they will have any melt left by the time the first weekend in November rolls around.

Harris is the better of the two draft prospect wise so it would make the most sense for him to come out, but the RB class this year is pretty solid. Lots of backs ahead of him. Bo is fairly injury proned so that could lead him to going early too. I think we would be fine with the Harris/Jacobs/Robinson trio next season.

Harris should go pro. He will have maxed out what he can learn here and a RB should get in the league whenever he can get drafted top 2-3rnds. He isnt going to shoot up the board after 1 more year. The only thing that could cause that is more speed which i dont see happening.

I don't see either staying. Bo missed that year, so even though he's a true Junior he's 4 years removed from HS. The longer he stays the shorter his NFL career could be. Show out at the combine, be a mid round guy, and work your arse off for carries.

For Damien, I think he's not getting a lot of attention right now, but I could see him going Day 2. You can't teach the vision he has, he just has a feel for running the football that some guys, no matter how athletically gifted, don't have. Coming back doesn't really benefit, I think, though it'd be awesome.

See the thing is you look at how damn good our running game is right now, we returned a fairly experienced OL and a lot of experienced RBs plus our QB. Next year Bozeman is the only guy gone on the OL unless Piersbacher leaves, Hurts is back again, and at least Harris and Jacobs are back (plus Robinson has looked good too, he just only ever comes in real late whereas Harris does get in some reps kinda early). All of our TEs will be back too.

Although I won't be surprised if both go pro, especially with the position having such a short self life on average in the NFL..
But what's the big difference between them returning and both Chubb & Michel returning for Georgia, especially since both those guys have had considerable injury history..?
I guess you never know, we'll see how this year plays out.

The difference is if they both return our running game would be the GOAT next season

Insisder on BOL doesn't think Justyn Ross ends up at Bama, which is fine with me.
