I don't know about the "being told no" part, but based on what all of the guys that I listen to have said, Joseph gave our staff a lot of confidence that he's coming a couple weeks ago.

I'd rather take JJ Peterson, Adam Anderson and Brandon Kaho anyway, plus Vernon Jackson is projected at LB.
Factor in our current depth (minus SR's Evans & Hamilton) should all be returning for next year..
Hell Ben Davis can't even get on the field yet.
