When did this become a public talk board and not a recruiting board? Just wondering how come we have to go through 1/2 a page to get any recruiting info. For the record I do appreciate the recruiting info everyone contributes though.
saint aggregates like 99‰ of what's happening in bama recruiting in one place, and you begrudge a little off topic chatter?

Define a little off topic? Is a little off topic 80% of the post made in the last 4-5 days? i enjoy coming here and reading the recruiting news and appreciate it...yes saint does a great job, just wondered if i missed the fact it became a general talk board or if it was still Alabama Recruiting.

Tim Watts CB'd Vernon Jackson to Alabama this morning. He may or may not be making an announcement at his school's pep rally this weekend (Friday?).

Another one of the Texas mods CB'd Jaylen Waddle to Alabama. That's 4 CBs for him in two days.

Apparently there is a chance Christian Miller can return this season according to his father. It wouldn't be until the SEC Championship Game (assuming we make it), but the possibility is there.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial Top247 quarterback Tanner McKee visited BYU this past weekend for the Cougars' game against Utah.

"It was a great visit," McKee said. "The atmosphere pre-game was awesome."

BYU's staff feels the 6-foot-6, 220-pound McKee is ideal for their scheme.

"They said I would be perfect fit for their system. They like tall, accurate QB's to run the pro-style system."

McKee plans to visit UCLA on September 30 for the Bruins' game against Colorado. The following weekend, October 7, McKee plans to take his official visit to Texas. Washington will also get a visit from McKee in October, while Alabama and Stanford receive visits in November.

The U.S. Army All-American currently ranks as the nations No. 29 overall prospect in the 2018 class according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

I think he would probably be best served applying for a medical redshirt, since he was hurt in the first game, could maybe get a 6th year of eligibility. I don't see him coming back near 100% that soon

Several people - Rodney Orr and BamaK among them - have said that Waddle is considered to be maybe the best WR to ever camp in front of Saban. That includes Amari and Ridley. Not sure if Julio came to camp. That isn't to say he'll necessarily be as good as Amari in college or the pros, but it explains why we want him so badly.

No point on a medical red shirt for Miller, he will be gone after next year anyway. Probably would have jumped to the NFL after this year.

Bama could use him in the playoffs.

Waddle might be the quickest WR I have seen on tape coming out of high school. He will be a nightmare at the slot spot at next level & in the NFL

If his eta would be at best the SEC CG then I would probably hold him out and apply for the medical. However, if we make the playoffs and he has another month to get back to full speed I'd go with him at that point.

Drew Champlin and Mark Jennings are back with another edition of Champ's Corner, the Alabama recruiting podcast.

Here, we look at where things stand with Mountain Brook running back Harold Joiner after Alabama watched him play against Hoover last week.

We also look at the recruitments of Jalen Cunningham and Justyn Ross and answer listener questions.

Listener questions include if Alabama can flip Zamir White and on the status of receiver Jaylen Waddle and defensive end Eyabi Anoma.

Myles Mason is back this week.

The senior at Hewitt-Trussville didn’t play in the Huskies’ two regular-season victories over Gadsden City and Callaway (Miss.) after playing in the preseason Champions Challenge in Montgomery.

Hewitt-Trussville coach Josh Floyd said today that Mason will play in Friday’s game at Grissom, but he gave no explanation for Mason’s absence and said the senior was not sidelined by an injury.

“I’m not really going to get into it out of respect for him,” Floyd said. “It was not anything negative on his part. It was something that had to be taken care of, and he’s good to go.

“We’re obviously excited he’ll be able to play.”

Mason ranked No. 12 on the preseason A-List and the son of an NFL player – transferred from Pleasant Grove to Hewitt-Trussville over the summer. He said he’s narrowed his list of potential college destinations to Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida State and Clemson.

They 6-foot-2, 200-pound Mason is projected as a safety in college, but he will also log time on offense for the Huskies. In the preseason Champions Challenge, he logged three carries and recorded six tackles against Pell City.

“He’s a weapon with the ball in his hands,” Floyd said.

Hewitt-Trussville (2-0) has won 12 straight regular-season game and enters Friday’s road game ranked No. 4 in AL.com’s Power 25 and No. 4 in the ASWA Class 7A rankings.

Mason joins a loaded Hewitt-Trussville squad that includes junior Alabama commit Pierce Quick on the offensive line, senior and Army commit Elliott McElwain at running back, junior quarterback prospect Paul Tyson and sophomore receiver prospect Dazalin Worsham.

Well that's weird. I wonder if he had to sit out due to transfer rules or if he got into trouble.

That Mountain Brook vs Thompson game would be a good one to go see. Joiner is obviously the one to watch for Mountain Brook and Thompson has 'Lil Tua and Amari Kight.

Who was the guy from this past recruiting cycle that was fast as hell and kinda small I guess. I think he was from the Chicago area. I know his grades were a problem.
