Where is Justin Fields headed? Fellow Georgia prospects weigh in
quote:
Five-star quarterback Justin Fields has been the most talked about football prospect in the 2018 class since de-committing from Penn State late in the spring. Where will he end up? Is it Auburn? Will he had south to Florida State? Does he want to stay home with the Georgia Bulldogs?
Rivals asked 15 top recruits from Georgia who know Fields to see what they had to say. The answers were quite varied, as Fields has kept everyone guessing. The final tally was seven predictions for Georgia, and four for both Auburn and Florida State.
Trevor Lawrence (Clemson commit): Georgia.
Emory Jones (Ohio State commit): Georgia. It is confusing, but I think he goes to Georgia. He likes to play games and say he is going to Kennesaw State.
Jamaree Salyer: Florida State. It seems like the best fit with Deondre Francois leaving and top wide receivers coming in.
Kearis Jackson: Georgia. Georgia is the home team and they need a quarterback like him.
Telly Plummer (Louisville commit): Auburn.
Quindarious Monday (Auburn commit): Auburn.
Thurman Geathers (Louisville commit): Georgia.
Josh Vann: I can’t say. Either Georgia or Florida State.
Trey Hill: Auburn.
Chigoziem Okonkwo: Florida State. I think Florida State because Auburn has their quarterback and Georgia signed five-stars in the last two classes.
Trey Dean (Tennessee commit): Auburn.
Jadon Haselwood (Georgia commit): Georgia.
Ryland Goede: Georgia.
Jaylen McCollough: Georgia. I think he is going to Georgia with his sister. She (2019 prospect) is committed to play softball there.
Harrison Bailey: Florida State. Florida State seems to fit him. He has been there a lot, he has thrown there and that is where I think he is going.

Ranking Louisiana's top DL recruits over the last 5 years
Now we know why he didn't have Allen in his LB rankings.
quote:
No. 6 Chris Allen, DE/LB, Southern Lab, 2017
Chris Allen spent his time in my database as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker, with the ability to excel at either position. He was scheme-versatile, which helped his grade a bit, but it was his ability to attack the edge that appealed to me the most. He wasn't overly explosive, but had enough to change direction well and develop a pretty good get-off at the snap. He may move to inside linebacker at the next level, which may end up being a bad move, in my opinion. I am anxious to see how he develops at the next level.
Now we know why he didn't have Allen in his LB rankings.

No. 4 Phidarian Mathis, DT, Neville, 2017
The more I watched and learned about Mathis, the more I liked. He was athletic, picked up his tempo towards the end of his career, and could create havoc in the opposition's backfield. He is best suited to man the edge at defensive end in a 3-4 scheme, which is where he is projected to play for Alabama. I expect him to develop into a highly productive collegiate defensive lineman.

No. 1 Ishmael Sopsher, DT, Amite, 2019
Sopsher is a consensus five-star prospect, and rightfully so. He still has some work to do in regards to playing with consistent energy and better leverage. But he has the size, explosiveness, strength and quickness to be an elite defensive tackle at the next level. Sopsher is the No. 2 overall prospect for me from 2013-2019, behind only Leonard Fournette in 2014.

I don't think they land Anthony Cook. I think he's Ohio State bound.

Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth defensive end KJ Henry named a top five of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia Tech last month. Henry, who will enroll early, hopes to take all five official visits. However, Alabama and Clemson are the only locks for trips. Those two have long been considered the favorites by many and once he takes officials, his decision will likely come down to those two schools.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle 2019 four-star tight end Isaiah Foskey picked up his 13th offer over the weekend, from Alabama, and it was a big one for Foskey.
"The Alabama offer is big for me and my family," said Foskey. "That is a school that every kid wants an offer from. This offer is just going to make my decision harder in the future."
Foskey was offered by co-defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, who played at De La Salle.
"Knowing Coach Lupoi was a former De La Salle player means a lot," said Foskey. "He knows what we go through to become a better football player and the best teammate."
Foskey already has a number of offers from around the country, including from Michigan, Miami, Nebraska and Notre Dame, plus a host of Pac-12 offers, from schools like UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.
"And one school that hasn't offered me that I believe is close to offering is Ohio State," said Foskey.
Washington offered Foskey last month when he took an unofficial visit.
"The visit to Washington was a great visit," said Foskey. "I like my position coach (Jordan Paopao) and the way the coaches put education in front of football.
Several schools are after Foskey pretty hard.
"The teams that have been recruiting me the hardest are Washington, UCLA, Cal, Nebraska and Michigan," said Foskey.
But Foskey, still a year and a half away from his likely Signing Day, is in no hurry to make a decision.
"Out of all my offers, I do not have any offers that stand out to me really and I don't have a favorite right now," said Foskey.
Still, he's developed a good rapport with a few coaches.
"I have a good relationship with Coach Paopao at Washington, Coach Jay Harbaugh at Michigan and Coach (Tavita) Thompson at Nebraska," said Foskey.
With De La Salle's season close to starting, and the usual lengthiness of a Spartan campaign, Foskey said he didn't have any plans for unofficial visits this fall, shifting that focus to next spring.
De La Salle opens their season on August 25 at Pleasanton (Calif.) Amador Valley.

With three years of high school football remaining, Noah Sewell has plenty of time to sort through his recruitment and it certainly won't hurt to have three older brothers experience things before him.
The class of 2020 linebacker from St. George (Utah) Desert Hills holds seven scholarship offers heading into his sophomore season, with the most recent arriving from Oregon while on his trip to Eugene at the end of July alongside his brother, four-star offensive lineman Penei Sewell.
"It was a beautiful place with the weather and everything," Sewell said. "It felt good just getting off the plane.
"Oregon set a high standard. It was a wonderful place. I talked to coach (Jim) Leavitt, the defensive coordinator, and coach (Mario) Cristobal, the offensive line coach, the most and they told me they like my personality on and off the field, and how I can take control in between the lines. Coach Leavitt told me that, depending on how I grow, I could turn into an outside linebacker in that system."
Sewell, whose other offers are from Alabama, Arizona State, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah and Utah State, was one of the standout performers at All Poly Camp earlier this summer. He plays with aggression and doesn't back away from contact despite his relative youth. Sewell flashed good instincts in the box and even showed the athleticism to garner some carries out of the backfield as a power runner.
Although his two older brothers are at Nevada and Penei appears close to narrowing his focus on a select few, Noah said he's maintaining an open mind with plenty of time to go.
"Really, I just want to see what schools have for me and whether I can picture myself there for four years," Sewell said.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect was credited 17 tackles and an interception in five games at the varsity level as a freshman last year. Desert Hills kicks off its 2017 season Friday.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle 2019 linebacker Henry To'oto'o, got big news from a former Spartan over the weekend.
De La Salle alum Tosh Lupoi, now the co-defensive coordinator for Alabama, extended the four-star an offer.
"The Alabama offer was huge for me," said To'oto'o. "I never expected it to come because of how big a school it is. I never knew my game would catch their eyes."
To'oto'o's game has caught plenty of eyes, after he joined the Spartans' varsity squad late last season and made a big impression for the Open Division state runner-ups.
Lupoi was a part of the Spartan program during their famed 151-game winning streak.
That a former Spartan offered To'oto'o was significant as well.
"It meant a lot that a DLS alum noticed my talents and standards as a Spartan," said To'oto'o. "It was an honor too that he offered me to play at one of the top notch schools in the nation."
The Tide joined offers from schools like California, Oregon, Colorado, UCLA, Notre Dame and Washington, among others.
UCLA hosted To'oto'o for an unofficial during the spring and the Bruins are prioritizing To'oto'o, with two Spartans currently on the roster, one being his cousin, sophomore defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa.
"Right now, UCLA is on me the hardest," said To'oto'o. "I have a close relationship with the linebackers coach, Scott White, and we try to keep in touch as much as we can."
To'oto'o also visited USC in the spring and his teammate, Tuli Letuligasenoa, is already committed to the Trojans. To'oto'o said the Trojans will watch him closely this fall and determine when they'll offer.
"I don't know, though, of any other schools that are close to offering as of right now," said To'oto'o.
To'oto'o took visits in the spring, but didn't take any during the summer.
"I didn't get a chance to visit any schools this summer because I was mainly focused on my summer workouts and getting myself in the best shape for the this season," said To'oto'o. "And I also focused on my spiritual growth to understand Heavenly Father as a man of faith."
But come spring and next summer, To'oto'o figures to be on the road quite a bit.
"I want to visit as many schools as I can and I will talk it over with my parents about some unofficials (this fall)," said To'oto'o.
To'oto'o and the Spartans won the CIF-NCS title last fall before falling short to Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco in the CIF State Open Division title game.
They will play defending Scout national champions Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman in September but open their season with a road game at Pleasanton (Calif.) Amador Valley on August 25.

San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon defensive end Jeremiah Martin doesn't plan to narrow his list anytime soon.
Part of that comes from only being able to check out a few schools this offseason and more comes from his desire to take his officials.
So for now, the four-star doesn't have a leader or plans to name a list of any sort.
"All the schools are the same just because I haven't really visited any others," said Martin. "I've visited USC, Alabama and UCLA, those are the only schools I've visited. I don't have a favorite right now."
Martin had an early offer from the Bruins, but it was camp performances in June (USC) and July (Alabama), that landed him offers from the Trojans and Tide.
"Alabama was really the only visit and the visit was great, the people were great," said Martin.
UCLA and USC have had Martin on campus numerous times, but for now, his plans for official visits will be outside of Southern California.
"I know four so far, Alabama, Colorado, Oregon and Texas A&M," said Martin. "I'll go to USC, UCLA, Arizona and Utah unofficially for games though."
Martin said he won't trim his list until after all of his visits, officials and unofficials, and a decision won't come until the very end.
"After the season and after the visits in December through February, I'll decide," said Martin, who plans to sign in February.
A number of schools are heavily pursuing Martin.
"There are many schools recruiting me hard as of right now," said Martin. "Coach Angus (McClure) at UCLA, Coach Tosh (Lupoi) at Alabama, Coach (Brian) Knorr and Coach (Chris) Singletary at Arizona, Coach (Kiel) McDonald at Utah, Coach (Charles) Clark at Oregon, Coach (Darrin) Chiaverini at Colorado, Coach (Johnny) Nansen at USC and Coach Terry (Price) at Texas A&M."
Martin is ranked as the No. 16 weakside defensive end nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings and No. 3 in the West by Scout.

Ross ran a laser timed 4.87 forty.
That's not elite.
I brought that up to two Bama beat writers/mods that I respect a lot that have watched a game per week (traveling to see top recruits every week) for years now. They both said that that had to be a fluke, and to just ignore that. They said he's the real deal. That's good enough for me. I've seen a lot of guys that posted strange 40 times at combines that could fly in college. Ridley, Robert Foster, among those.

I've been scrolling through Zomato (Urbanspoon) and have seen a handful of Chinese places, but none of them have a website. The reviews are all over the place too, but they always are on Zomato.

So Coynis Miller has named Florida his leader.

So says he grew up an Alabama fan. Attends school nearby. He's at a position of need and Alabama is recruiting him hardest. But names Florida leader. Makes sense.

Who were the last recruits from the state of Alabama to choose Florida that held a committable offer from UA?
William Green in 2008?
Solomon Patton?
They didn't do so well.
