Rodney Orr on TI had a post earlier entitled "The Gutting of Louisiana". He talks about how 5 of the 6 Bama signees from there have looked great so far in Fall camp (Buggs, Chris Allen, Moses, Mathis, and Devonta Smith... all except for the kicker, of course). I think that would be an excellent topic to post over on The Rant. The only caveat is that I'm battling a stomach virus right now and have neither the energy or desire to go back-and-forth on there over the course of hours. Anybody else want to start the thread?

When they make plays against Florida State, it will write itself.

Got a chuckle out if this thread this morning. Joiner now is the next Derrick Henry after being a wuss and scared of competition just a few weeks ago

Its funny. Having similar vitals does not equate to being the next King Henry.

Alabama is the latest to offer 2019 five-star linebacker Henry To'oto'o, the Concord (Calif.) De La Salle product announced on Twitter Saturday.
To'oto'o adds the offer to a list that includes Oregon, UCLA, and Washington, among others.
At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, To'oto'o is rated the No. 2 outside linebacker and the No. 20 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He's currently trending to UCLA on the Crystal Ball.

The Tide also offered To'oto'o's teammate and 2019 four-star tight end Isaiah Foskey, per multiple reports.
At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Foskey is rated the No. 4 tight end and the No. 85 overall player in the country. Stanford is trending on the Crystal Ball as it stands.
De La Salle is the alma mater of Alabama's ace recruiter Tosh Lupoi.

THE SITUATION
Rivals250 defensive back Nadab Joseph broke his commitment to LSU on Thursday after months of visiting and talking to other schools. The decommitment comes on the heels of a visit to Alabama and a spring spent wearing Florida State gear to various events. Joseph announced his decision via Twitter and did a short interview with Rivals.com following his public statement.
LOCAL REACTION
You hate to lose high four-star prospects at any position, but with LSU’s current roster, what we are hearing about how true freshmen are performing at camp, current commitments, and next year's loaded 2019 Louisiana crop of defensive backs, Nadab Joseph's decommitment doesn’t sting that bad. Certainly LSU would like to have him, but there are other positions that have more pressing need for the Tigers (OL, WR). - Michael Scarborough, Tigerbait.com
Sting score: 7
REGIONAL REACTION
Joseph was one of LSU's top commits and an extremely talented prospect, so it hurts in that way. I’m not sure many LSU fans – or many in the LSU football office – thought Joseph would stick until Signing Day, however, so that lightens the blow. This won’t hurt LSU as much as losing an in-state prospect would, but it’s certainly not insignificant. It will hurt more if Joseph ends up at Alabama, which seems like a solid possibility. - Rivals.com Southeast analyst Rob Cassidy
Sting Score: 6
NATIONAL REACTION
“I say it’s a seven. He’s a very, very talented DB, and it’s always important for LSU to have a footprint in Florida. LSU is also one of, like, four schools that can claim to be DBU, so they’ll get a good replacement. It’s a seven only because of the Florida aspect of things.” - Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell
Sting score: 7
AVERAGE STING SCORE: 6.66
What’s next: In the minutes following his announcement, Joseph texted Rivals.com a list of schools that he will now consider. That list consisted of Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and LSU. Of the group, Florida State and Alabama seem like the two most likely landing spots. A recent visit to Alabama helped speed along his decommitment process, and Joseph has visited FSU on a number of occasions. Right now, the Crimson Tide seems like the slight favorites to land the four-star prospect.

As we near the midway point in August, Alabama's 2018 recruiting class sits at No. 26 in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
The Crimson Tide has welcomed three new additions this month thus far, with at least two more top targets planning to decisions in the next two weeks.
Here, BamaOnLine breaks down the Tide's current 10-pledge class.

WR Xavier Williams
Williams committed to Alabama last January after naming the Tide his top school in the fall. The South Florida wideout has turned into one of UA's most vocal recruiters in the class, going after several targets including fellow receivers Justin Watkins and Justyn Ross. Williams has taken visits elsewhere this offseason, including a stop at Ohio State, but his commitment status has only seemed to strengthen with time.

DE Stephon Wynn
Alabama surged late for the four-star defensive lineman from South Carolina. After hosting Wynn and his family on a June visit, the Tide took the lead over Georgia heading into the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder's July 1 commitment. In fact, had Wynn not taken that visit to Tuscaloosa, he said he would be committed to UGA right now. The Tide commit may take official visits elsewhere, but for now remains firm in his commitment.

CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
Alabama went from missing Armour-Davis' top six in February, to landing his commitment in June over Auburn and Florida State. The South Alabama defensive back was a huge addition to a cornerback-needy class. Armour-Davis said prior to making his commitment public that he still planned to take visits after committing.

DE/LB Cameron Latu
Back in January, Latu was relatively unknown on the recruiting circuit. At the time he was committed to BYU, but after deciding to back off that pledge, and take a visit to Tuscaloosa, his stock skyrocketed. Several major programs put offers on the table. Bama was the early leader before Latu came out with a top five. USC and Utah looked to be the top competition. After his third visit to Alabama this year for the Champions Cookout, the four-star defensive end pulled the trigger on the Tide and joined the class.

LB Quay Walker
Walker named Alabama his leader in April, one day after releasing a top five. The Peach State 'backer jumped onboard the class in June. Walker continues to show interest in other programs, notably Auburn, Florida State, and Georgia. Crisp County head coach Brad Harber told BamaOnLine earlier this week that the Tide remains in the forefront of Walker's recruitment, but that he (Walker) wants to make sure the decision he made is the best possible choice for him.

OT Tommy Brown
Brown landed his dream offer from Alabama in June, and made up his mind on committing a few days later on Father's Day. The four-star tackle went public with his decision in July. Brown's father threw shot put for the Tide in the 1980s. The 6-foot-7, 313-pounder is about as firm a commitment that a fan could ask for.

LB Jordan Davis
Davis is Alabama's longest-tenured 2018 commitment after joining the class last December. The four-star linebacker has become one of the Tide's top recruiters. Just this past week, Alabama priority target Jaylen Waddle said he hears from Davis the most out of any other committed prospects. The 6-foot-5, 238-pounder may take visits elsewhere, but is locked in with the Tide for now.

OG Jarrett Bell
Nobody on the Alabama side of things knew about Jarrett Bell until he showed up to camp and impressed the staff in July. The 6-foot-5, 295-pounder earned an offer last month, and took the Tide up on it earlier this week. Bell has only been a full-time offensive lineman for three months after transitioning from defensive end. The Golden State lineman has a lot of upside fans should get excited about.

APB Slade Bolden
Another prospect that boosted his stock big-time at Alabama's July camp, Bolden greatly impressed both offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and head coach Nick Saban on the way to making his offer he picked up in May committable. After dropping LSU in late July, the 5-foot-11, 192-pounder committed to Alabama over TCU earlier this month. Bolden projects as a slot receiver in the Tide's offense, but can be used in a variety of roles. The West Monroe product is an All-State football and baseball player in Louisiana.
