Yeah Saint does the lord's work. I think it's fair to say that we all appreciate him very much for running the thread, especially after he said that he didn't want to.

Thanks for the kind words.

Someone is going to have to do the Lord's work for me the week of November 6th through the 10th. I'll be driving 2,200 miles to my new home.

Interesting post from the LSURb regarding Terrace Marshall:

quote:

I am currently in Shreveport, at Independence Stadium, (you know, where nick Saban got his arse kicked in 96 by Gerry Dinardo) watching scrimmages against multiple teams, including North Desoto vs. Parkway..... As we are in a lightning delay, I had a chance to talk to Terrance Marshall and I told him, "Im from Baton Rouge and would love to see you go to LSU and play for 3 years then head to the NFL." He then tells me, "They don't want me." My reaction..."HUH!?". He says, "They don't call, they don't give me any attention, and Ensminger is the recruiter up here and he shows zero interest." He proceeds to tell me, that he's not even going to take an official visit bc he hasn't been invited. He doesn't want to go somewhere that isn't interested in him.
How can you have a number one wide receiver in the country in your home state and not give him all the attention he wants?? That makes no sense to me.
Don't kill the messenger. I'm just writing what I was told by the guy personally.

Marshall recently stated he has opened up to being recruited by Alabama again FWIW.

Another post from ellitor regarding Justyn Ross:

quote:

FWIW Mike chimed in on Ross in another thread. He had previously said AU led but didn't feel overly confident in that. He now says it's not over but Bama leads & Ross is listening to them.

If LSU doesn't want Marshall, then that send sup all kinds of red flags. I wonder if they know or have heard something about him? That's very strange if true.

I'm assuming Hunter is an Auburn "insider." Perhaps TigerPaw can chime in here?

He's a high school coach in AL with supposed close connections to AU staff. He has all but promised Fields will sign with AU so we will see how legit or not he is soon

I agree that Seth Williams may be better than Ross, but there is no way in hell Matthew Hill is.

Truthfully I think Hill is more polished WR than either Williams or Ross right now. Dude is elite. With that said Ross to me is the clear stud of the group. If given a choice of one from those 3 I want Ross

Hank South and Demetric Warren CB'd jumbo athlete Vernon Jackson to Alabama.

Burton Burns wants him at RB FWIW.

Aka, nudie fowler version 2.0.

Williams has grown on me. And I'd take either him or Ross to pair with other targets at WR. But push comes to shove, I want the bigger WR. Williams is more filled out

The post by the "insider" also says says Shed is better, no way in hell Shedrick Jackson is better, he is truly a homer.

I would take Ross over him all day.

A note on the scrimmage today that I thought would be of interest on here.

It probably won't be a surprise to us on here as many of us talked him up last year and couldn't understand why he was as low ranked (somewhere around #100 Composite) as he was, but Chris Allen got reps with the 1st team defense in the scrimmage today. He's going to be a star. How he wasn't a top 20 overall recruit in the country still baffles me. On paper, he has everything. Size, speed, frame, versatility, productivity, played against good HS competition.

He was one of my favorite signees. Had a panic when it looked like he wouldn't qualify. Damn those terrible rumors.

Anyone think with the news out of camp about how poor the kicking is that taking another kicker is possible?

If that pans out that Bulovas is a bust (certainly way too early), I wish we would just scour the landscape for a grad transfer from somewhere. It's to the point that it's laughable. Just find someone from a smaller program looking to win a championship that has proven that he can kick in college. Forget trying to evaluate it anymore, because obviously we can't.

That being said, I have no doubts that Ruiz (the guy who was committed to us, but then wimped out and decided to stay in Arizona) will become an All-American kicker now, as will the guy at UF now (whose name escapes me).

I just want a reliable kicker again. This is a near decade long problem.

Think we try and flip Evan McPherson, an in-state kid who is committed to MSU?

I hope we try. Hell, let's sign 5 kickers and hope one of them isn't a head case.
