OTHER RIVALS250 PROSPECTS OF NOTE

quote:

CB Devin Bush

"Louisiana is known for producing defensive backs and Bush appears to be the next elite prospect to come out of the state. He has good size and very good coverage skills, and I've been impressed more every time I've seen him over the past year. LSU, Florida and several others are among his early suitors." – Woody Wommack, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

Rumor has it that the guy he went up against on the 2nd and 3rd rep has the nickname "Glacier".

Jeremiah Martin is starting to figure out his official visits and it has a bend toward SEC and Pac-12 schools.

The standout defensive end/outside linebacker from San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon hopes to see Colorado, Alabama, Texas A&M and Oregon in the fall and then he could figure out a fifth trip as well.

Getting back to Tuscaloosa is a big deal for Martin, who had an excellent trip there in recent weeks for summer camp. He plans to be at the LSU-Alabama showdown in early November.

“Alabama was a great experience,” Martin said.

The talented defensive end who also has the athleticism to stand up and play outside linebacker plans to be at Texas A&M for its matchup against the Crimson Tide in early October.

Martin has been intrigued with the Aggies for a long time and getting to College Station could be huge for him.

Oregon has aggressively been coming after Martin as well and so has Colorado, a school that could definitely become a major player in his recruitment as things move forward.

For the Oregon trip, Martin is not sure of the weekend yet. For Colorado, the San Bernardino Cajon standout hopes to get to Boulder in late September when Washington visits.

The local schools are also very much under consideration. UCLA has been recruiting Martin for a long time and that could be a factor for the Bruins as his recruitment continues.

USC offered Martin in the middle of June and since then the Trojans have emerged as a serious contender for him as well.

No commitment is expected until the Cajon recruit gets to take his visits – especially the four official trips – and then he should be prepared to make a decision.

DE/OLB Andrew Chatfield decommitted from Ohio State.

He's teammates with Patrick Surtain and Tyson Campbell FWIW.

WR Terrace Marshall says he is starting to be receptive to Alabama again.

He plans to take an OV for the LSU game.

Interesting.

Does anyone here live in Prattville?

If so, what neighborhoods should I be focusing on?

There's not many bad areas. Pretty much if it looks like a decent area, it is. I haven't lived in Prattville since 2006, but my parents live there. We've lived near Shady Oak and Summer Lane and never had any problems that I know of. Bunch of military people live in Prattville. If you know anyone at Gunter or Maxwell, ask where they live.

You should try the Emerald Mountain area across river in elmore county. Schools are good and its not far from Gunter.

At least 4 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, square footage wise around 2500 or so.

I've been looking on Zillow and have found a few I really like, but no assignment is guaranteed until you get on the road with orders in hand so I don't want to buy anything until I get down there.

I have very limited experiences with Montgomery and even less with Prattville. Something closer to the interstate would be ideal because of my work commute, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. I am used to commuting 25 minutes as it is up here.

ETA: Oh yeah, how could I forget. The wife wants a pool.

I'll look into it. Thanks for the heads up.

ETA: What city is this in? Stupid Zillow can't find anything for Emerald Mountain.

Tyson Campbell on Alabama:

quote:

Nick Saban and Alabama on the other hand appear to be trending up in the recruitment after hosting Campbell for an unofficial visit last month.

"Alabama is Alabama. It’s one of the top schools in the country. Their lack of corner depth with the guys that they put in the league, it’s just a school that you got to look into. I think with my class I’m blessed with the opportunity to go there and play early. It’s a school that I’m looking into. I talk to Nick Saban a lot on the phone. I also talk to [defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley] and [defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt]."

Camellia Estates is a decent neighborhood on the cheaper end. Shelia Blvd is a little nicer.

Upper and Lower Kinsgston has a little lower property value but can be a really nice mixture of suburb/country.

Decent neighboorhoods around the high school.

The more you get uptown (Wal-Mart to Target) the more it becomes more suburbs of Montgomery in terms of neighboorhoods ect.

The more you get downtown, you're gonna find older homes.

I'm personally not a big fan of the corporate chain stores ect and prefer the older/rural parts of town.

Also, Chris' BBQ is pretty banging. Osaka's is better than Tokyo and cheaper. Fox's pizza is great but every once in a awhile you get a big pike of grease instead.

The Bamboo Forest and Cooter's Pond are great places to go walk around outside. Cooter's has some nice views of the Montgomery skyline. I'd also highly recommend kayaking down Autuaga Creek!

Pratt Pubb is my preferred place to drink if I'm gonna go out. Mainly because I enjoy watching elderly people dance to top 40s.

It's best to stay away from Bama Lanes on Friday/Saturday nights. The high school crowd pretty much takes over.

Also learn how hit the new shopping centers from Old Farm Road and Highway 82 so you don't have to drive up Cobbs Ford every time you go out!

Thanks for the info.

I've spent a little time in Prattville, albeit 6 years ago, so I have some knowledge of the layout of the town, but not much.

I spent 6 weeks at Maxwell back in 2011 and would drive through there on my way back to Columbus every weekend.

Isn't there a new(ish) Cajun restaurant in town?

Yes, Uncle Mike's! Place is good.

You can be the extra bag man in Prattville and keep that pipeline solid to Tuscaloosa.

Nice.

The base up here started doing a themed dinner once a month and last month's was Cajun food. One of the items on the menu was grilled Boudin so my wife and I signed up for it because we haven't been able to find it up here anywhere.

Well they served us an appetizer and some gumbo and both were excellent considering the source. However, when the "Boudin" came out it was sliced andouille sausage.

You should have seen the disappointment on my wife's face.
