This might be the year Saban doesn't sign a 5 star guy.
Usually the state of Alabama will have one or two 5 star players and has several other elite guys, but this year the state only has like 6 or 7 elite guys and no 5 stars.

A commitment from Jarrett Bell would actually get Alabama to #26 in the 247 composite rankings.

Bell has now moved up in the rankings himself. His commitment would actually move Alabama to the top 25 again.

Yep. Moved up like 800 spots on 247, and is a 4* on Rivals. I'm sure we'll hear all about that. But when applying common sense, should the OL MVP at the Bama and USCw camps (where reams of 4* and 5* guys will be at both camps) really not be at least somewhat highly ranked?

Any idea when he's committing today? SEC Country had an article stating 1:00 eastern. Obviously that time as passed.

One very important thing about Bell. He can play all 5 OL positions. Extremely versatile. As we saw with Randolph and Wills, the staff obviously covets versatility in OL recruits.

They also think Randolph, Wills, and Brannon have the ability to play Center. I'm sure not all (maybe only 1) of those guys wind up there. But it's important to have several guys who CAN play Center, and can play multiple positions.
