1. ALABAMA
If you have paid attention to recruiting at all over the last decade, this should come as no surprise. The only minor bump on the road over the last five recruiting seasons was back in 2015, when the Tide were beaten out by UCS for the top spot. Otherwise, Alabama is the king of the castle in the current recruiting world and shows no signs of slowing down.
Judge Farrell: ACHIEVED. Being No. 1 overall every year except the year it finished second, Alabama had a lot to live up to on the field, but a national title and two other playoff appearances in the four-year span is good enough for me.

So, why the change? Well, let’s just say, this likely isn’t football-related. We’ll leave it at that.
Whew. Looks like we might dodge that one

Yeah. Too much Manziel in him.

It makes you wonder what they heard that finally made em back off.

I think I saw somewhere that he had an altercation at a camp recently that brought his bad attitude to light.

Well the kid probably doesn't have a very structured home life. I mean, he already has enough ink to make a sailor jealous. Seeing as a parent or guardian is allowing him to make bad decisions that will be with him forever at such a young age they probably don't discipline him much either.

And this isn't an attack on tattoos. It's an attack on allowing a kid to make a decision he isn't mature enough to understand the consequences of.

It's amazing how parents can let their kids down like that. I don't understand it. Kids hate discipline, but most will thank you for it when they grow up.

My 12 year old got a phone when he turned 10. We got him a big LG smartphone that had all the bells and whistles (but still free with a two year contract
Things were fine for a few months until he texted my wife to "don't forget to clear the history." Of course she walked down the hall and asked him what the hell he was talking about. He started stammering about and said he was reminding the kid across the street to clear the history on Madden football. Like we were going to fall for that shite.
So after a few minutes of getting screamed at he admits what we already knew: the neighbor had shown him porn on his laptop while he was at his house. Now this kid was a tiny little shite who was 8 at the time. His mom left him at home all day long and he was given free reign to do whatever he wanted.
My son, on the other hand, was grounded for months and had his phone downgraded to a basic flip phone so he couldn't access the internet. Two years later and we just got him a new basic flip phone.

On a side note: I don't think kids really appreciate porn anymore. Do they understand what we had to do to just see a boob when we were kids? To hold a playboy or an actual porn video was like catching a fricking unicorn

That's exactly how it should be done. You guys trusted him and he blew it. He really can't say a thing about it because he let it happen. From the rest of the citizens out here, thank you for actually parenting your kids. They will be a productive member of society because you and your wife aren't lazy
After two years I still get a kick out of ruining his dreams of getting a good phone. We walk by the Apple store in the mall and he's like "Look the new Iphones are out!" I'll ask him if he wants to get one and he says "Yes!"
I say too bad and keep walking.

Tidesaint. Thank you very much for defending our country and going to all the s*** places in the world to do great things that so many take for granted. I teach my kids that if it wasn't for brave men like you our nation would be in a world of hurt. Stay safe when you deploy and remember we truly value your service and the brave men and women that serve with you....

I really appreciate it brother, but I'm in the Air Force.
I'm no hero and never will be.
However, if you see our boys from the Army and the Marines please repeat your statement to them. They put up with a lot of hell to protect all of us. They are the true heroes.
We'd be in a world of shite if it weren't for them. They deserve all of our respect.
ETA: True story incoming. I was 26 years old when I joined. I had gone to college, was married with a kid on the way and had a really good job when I made the decision to join. You wanna know the reason why?
I stayed up late one night watching Black Hawk Down. Towards the end of the movie the character played by Eric Bana tells the Josh Hartnett character a story of the questions he gets when he goes home on leave.
quote:
When I go home people'll ask me, "Hey Hoot, why do you do it man? What, you some kinda war junkie?" You know what I'll say? I won't say a goddamn word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand that it's about the men next to you, and that's it. That's all it is.
It hit me like a ton of bricks that night even though I had seen that movie 20 times before then.
I went to see the recruiter the next morning and have never questioned my decision.
Both of my grandfathers served in the military, but it took a 2 minute segment from a movie to put things in perspective for me.
The voiceover from that same movie is harrowing and I read it aloud every chance I get:
quote:
My love, stay strong and you will do well in life. I love you and my children deeply. Today and tomorrow let each day grow and grow. Keep smiling and never give up even when things get you down. So in closing my love, tonight tuck my children in bed warmly. Tell them I love them, then hug them for me and give them both a kiss goodnight for daddy.
