I would have liked Brown but I am not sure he was ready even at 3 deep for the fall. He needs a redshirt in my opinion and not sure he would have help the rotation next fall. If is was an EE then maybe but enrolling in the summer would hate to have to rely on him in the rotation if someone got hurt.

But the DT miss was as much about 2019 as 2018. It's not that a guy like Brown would have made any noticeable difference for 2018 but he could have for 2019. Instead we may be forced to find true freshman contributors for 2019 which is difficult at DT.

I think it was The ‘Tooth that gave us a fax girl the next year. Good times.

Missing on Brown, Ross, Walker, NPF, Sewell, Langham, Beal and Jackson was pretty brutal. Even our insiders like Watts and Orr didn't see that many strike-outs coming. Grateful for PS2 and Waddle along with the other guys but when you have 4 spots you didn't use, that's a failure.

Hopefully Saban uses this as fuel to go scorched-earth on the recruiting trail for 2019. Take no prisoners, accept nothing less than the #1 class in the nation. Glad 2018 class is over...on to 2019!

This is 100% correct

I said yesterday or the day before that we needed a fax girl that stripped off an article of clothing with each signing. She'd still be sitting there bundled up like nanook of the north. ''Twas a bad idea

3714 has been absent for most of the day. Early signing period took the lead out of his pencil I guess

I think Saban was talking about grad transfers at DL and QB.

Anyone want to make some predictions on this class?

Stud of the Class: Surtain

Most Upside: Anoma

Sleeper: Moody

Player that might not meet expectations: Williams

Not positive that a Fax Girl is ever a bad idea, but point taken.

It's amazing how "the sky is falling " attitude takes hold from a #6 class smh. We got a great db haul, a great pass rusher, and a game breaker to go along with a stacked roster.

USC added Griffin and ITS late in the day and jumped to #4, bumping us from #6 to #7. But our average player rating is #5, at 92.7 vs UGA at 94.3. And a few of our guys are pretty under-rated; e.g., Barmore, Eddie Smith and Moody.

I didn't expect us to get NPF; too stacked at OL. No problem. We'll add great OL in '19. And missing on Ross won't hurt. We're stacked at WR. Great DB haul! Great front 7 haul too, except for missing on Walker and one more DL. We had a great 2017 LB class! If Jarez Parks hasn't added weight, he projects very well at ILB/SAM. And Kedrick James can add weight and move to DL. Maybe add 1-yr grad transfers at QB, DT & LB as extra insurance.

Good news: Available talent outlook is excellent for 2019. We have 3 unused 2018 spots we can backcoumt 3 2019 EEs into. So, we can take a total of 28 in the 2019 cycle to cover 3 of our 2018 misses. Saban did a great job of revamping the staff -- excellent coaches / recruiters.

Our 2018 offense will be deadly and carry us until the new secondary gets a few games under its belt. We will be absolutely fine!

Coach Bryant was speaking of losing a game but you can apply to recruiting on a day like today.

“It’s awfully important to win with humility. It’s also important to lose. I hate to lose worse than anyone, but if you never lose you won’t know how to act. If you lose with humility, then you can come back.”
