I've got a serious question-
If Bama has the no.1 kicker in the country in their own backyard coming in the next class what was the point of giving a four year Scholly to a project kicker that was going to be blueshirted into this years class ? Unless I'm totally mistaken we fooked ourselves out of a Scholly for this class for nothing, and apparently the dude couldn't kick a football into the ocean off the side of a boat.
Anyone help me with this ?

Because we were trying to catch lightning in a bottle with a kicker for the 2018 season when our orignal kicker commit (#1 in the country supposedly) backed out at the last minute. At the time we took Bulovas we didn't know that Pappanastos would be the kicker (and let's be honest - he wasn't really that good a kicker).
Also, Bulovas was ranked the #3 kicker in the class by 247 and #6 in their composite, so he had a "resume" of his own. It wasn't like he was taken from the scrap heap.

Still don’t understand why we signed him if his kicks are low and inaccurate. Somebody not evaluate him??

It's hard to evaluate guys if they are kicking off a tee in high school. My guess is that yes, he was evaluated.

Maybe Banks can work with him. Bobby sure couldn’t

His consistency in ball striking, his overall field goal range, and his kick off ability make him unique. His "A" ball is at the Power 5 level in both kicking and punting.
His punting has really improved to the point where he is about two years ahead of his age. He creates great extension on his drop and has powerful hips up and through the ball.
His technique is consistent, repeatable, and impressive. The ball jumps off his foot. He will be a Power 5 Scholarship kicker/punter!
Seems odd Bama hasn't offered him yet.

I don’t think Bobby was a real coach honestly.

Hoover had a pretty good Senior kicker this past season. He's committed to Nebraska.

Did y'all know that the #1 kicker in this class signed with Florida? And he's from Fort Payne.

Lol did you watch his film. We haven't a guy like him in a while. The last small shifty guy I can really think of is maybe Millons could be wrong tho.

Talking about the Bear. I was 9 weeks old when he passed away.
I have my “Winning Seasons” (Tuscaloosa Junior League cookbook) autographed by him in my office.
Bryant and Saban are 1a and 1b

I did watch his film. I like what I see from Ross. He is a matchup problem, really long and fast too.

I think Wassle comes in and is a returner from day one and he dominated the Army Bowl game.
