LSU message boards melt down after Phidarian Mathis’ commitment to Alabama

quote:

On Tuesday evening 4-star defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis, made his commitment to Nick Saban and Alabama official. Ultimately, it came down to LSU and the Crimson Tide for the talented Louisiana product, and as a result of his decision, a sizeable proportion of the LSU was upset at the home-state kid leaving for the Tigers’ arch rival. So upset, in fact, that some have wished harm on him on various LSU message boards:

quote:

A vocal minority to be sure, but this is yet another example of how seriously fans take college football recruiting. Despite the loss of Mathis, it’s safe to say that most Tiger fans are wishing him well.
Yeah, sure.

Arkansas does the same thing. They were real salty about Monk going to UK. They're not as bad as LSU fans on here but there were some that got real upset.

LINK ]BREAKING: Alabama edges out LSU for Louisiana Under Armour All-American DT Phidarian Mathis
Chris Kirschner | SEC Country
quote:

In what has become a yearly tradition, Alabama went mano a mano with LSU for one of the premier recruits in the state of Louisiana.

For the fifth time in 2017, Alabama has snagged a Louisiana native in 4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis from Neville High School (Monroe, La.)...

“It feels like home and I know I’m going to get a good education there and I’m going to be well taken care of,” Mathis said for the reason why he would choose Alabama last month...

The No. 4 recruit from the state of Louisiana had told SEC Country before that he felt like Alabama was recruiting him the hardest...

“Alabama is a great team, and I love them,” Mathis said. “Alabama has a great squad and a great coaching staff. They treated me like I was at home when I have visited.”...

USCw is going to land an epic haul tomorrow too. Look for ESPN to rank them #1 again.

After all, they have Devonta Smith at #227 overall.

We'd finish with 322.38 points with that haul. One point shy of the record.

Haha. Nobody thinks they're getting Solomon.

By the way, the surprise to keep an eye on tomorrow is (if we don't get Solomon) Kinlaw. Keep at eye on that one.

Edit: By "Nobody thinks they're getting Solomon", I wasn't referring to Michigan. I was referring to that it doesn't seem like any of the mods/staffs think he's going to commit to the school that they represent. Nobody seems to have a clue.
