So, counter move would be Saban telling Ruggs and Smith who he is bringing in as their next coach before it becomes official. If he knows at this point...
Guess we will see.

Maybe we can get ray and Solomon. Looks like WRs are done for this class

I hope we go out and poach a receiving coach and don't promote from within. We need someone proven

Then why doesn't Riggs follow him to ASU?

Just relax fellas.
Ruggs and Smith haven't signed anything yet and the dead period doesn't start until tomorrow night at Midnight.
We'll be fine.

Why would he? If Napier recruited Ruggs to Bama and then all of the sudden left. Then you would think Ruggs would increase his interest in his number 2 school.

For as good of a recruiter as Napier was, he sure shite the bed last year.

Time to bring Lance Taylor home.
I don't mean this rudely. I'm more or less genuinely curious. Is this a shtick? The whole "let's get state of Alabama guys and UA guys only" deal. I guess somebody that's doing a "shtick" (for lack of a better term) really isn't going to tell you if it is or not, but if you're serious, why would you not simply want us to sign the best players or coaches regardless of where they're from? For the life of me, I don't understand this.

Exactly. That's how we struggled so much after BB. People wanting to bring coaches home or contiune a legacy instead of getting the brst replacement.

LINK ]Alabama schools using 'blueshirt' method to bolster recruiting classes
quote:
Alabama schools are utilizing a little-known recruiting loophole to get around NCAA recruiting class size rules.
College football programs have long redshirted players and the "grayshirt" has become common too, but it is the "blueshirt" that's the latest step in big-time recruiting. While the grayshirt delays a player's enrollment until the following January after a recruit signs in February, the rules for a blueshirt are a bit different.
A player taking a blueshirt cannot officially visit a school and won't be listed as a signee this coming Wednesday for National Signing Day. Much like a walk-on, he can't be visited by the head coach and can only unofficially visit on his own dime.
What's the catch? He can go on scholarship in August and be a freshman with the rest of his committed class. His scholarship will go toward the 85 allowed, but counts as an initial qualifier scholarship in the following year's class. This allows programs to get around the 25 scholarship player limit per signing class...
Alabama could have two commits blueshirt. Offensive lineman Hunter Brannon and kicker Joseph Bulovas have not taken official visits to Alabama. Bulovas said that he will be in Tuscaloosa in May. A blueshirt can pay his own way for summer classes and then his scholarship will go into effect in August.
Both Brannon and Bulovas have said they'll be enrolled this summer. There's a chance they could be listed as signees on Wednesday. That probably happens if other uncommitted targets don't choose Alabama and initial spots are still available...
Schools can use as many blueshirts as they need to, as long as they stay at or below the 85 scholarship limit...
