Let's me honest. Tom Brady would look like shite in jim Chaney's offense. I'll hold my judgement on Eason

Yep. UGA's 2016 OL was soft too, but Kirby really needs to replace Chaney, imo.

Tua is the best QB this year, all there is to it. Is Jeudy going to stay a composite 5 star? I thought he did pretty good at the under armour all American week

He did. Strange. I guess with so many getting bumps, some had to drop a few spots by default. Jeudy had a big rise in the Rivals rankings.

The Under Armour All-America Game and the Army All-American Bowl are behind us and the final rankings for the 2017 class are in. Alabama early enrollee Najee Harris held on for the top overall spot and five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson remained at No. 2 but after that there were plenty of changes up and down in the Rivals100 that was released Monday. Here in the Rivals250 there was plenty of movement as well with many prospects moving all over the rankings following the all-star events. Here are the biggest risers in the Rivals250, with plenty of top prospects moving up in the latest rankings release.

RISERS

quote:

Henry Ruggs

#125 overall

Movement: +48

Analyst’s take: “Ruggs' strength is his speed and he showed it translates against top-flight competition during his two all-star game appearances. Alabama seems to be the frontrunner for Ruggs but Florida State and others remain involved. ” - Cassidy

Phidarian Mathis

#151 overall

Movement: N/A (TideSaint note: He was outside the Top 250 so he moved up at least 100 spots)

Analyst’s take: “Mathis emerged later in the process than some of the prospects in the Rivals250 but he consistently impressed as the cycle moved along. After a great senior season he came to the Under Armour game and continued to shine, showing the ability to play both defensive tackle and defensive end at the next level. LSU is the favorite to land Mathis.” – Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Woody Wommack

Kendall Randolph

#248 overall

Movement: N/A (Same deal as Mathis so he moved up at least 3 spots)

Analyst’s take: “Randolph is committed to Alabama and unlikely to change his mind despite kicking around the idea of visits. Randolph participated in two all-star games and displayed great lower body strength and improved technique.” - Cassidy

Jarez Parks

#118 overall

Movement: -71

Analyst’s take: “Parks, who still boasts a high upside, lacks upper body strength. He'll need to develop in a college weight program and become a better tackler. He is considering Florida State and Alabama.” - Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Rob Cassidy

Nico Collins

#120 overall

Movement: -61

Analyst’s take: “Collins, who still boasts amazing hands, struggled to create separation from top-level defensive backs. He had a quiet All-Star season. Collins is likely to land at either Michigan or Georgia.” - Cassidy

Ouch.

I'm still shocked it took this long for Nico Collins to be exposed for the WR he is.

Is it safe to say that Savage would have been a 5 star if not for the suspension?

I guess we'll never know.

So Barton Simmons decided to take questions regarding today's 5-star release. I haven't gotten through them yet, but I'll post the ones I think are relevant to us.

This should be good.

Since 247 has begun its own rankings 8 QBs have been first rounders. None were ranked 5-star by 247.

From a Georgia fan regarding Tua being ranked above Fromm:

quote:

Lol good explanation Barton.

"We feel good about it"

What your failing to explain is what makes Tua better than the guy who started over him and had command of the offense in no time? Is it just his hand size, or intangibles, or what?

I'm happy to explain that.

Arm strength is probably the biggest factor Tua has over Fromm in our opinion. I love Fromm as a prospect. Think he's a really good player. I think Tua can make a few throws Fromm can't. Tua is a little more athletic than Fromm too but I think they're both going to be really good college quarterbacks.

They both had a command over the offense during the week.

Butthurt Ohio State fan:

So Ohio State had 7 5*s and was about to sign the most potent class ever likely and of course 24/7 had to put a stop to that. New #1? Bama. Lucky keeps his pawns in order. No I'm not even an Osu fan either. The shite is just comical.

Ohio State had 3 5-stars on 247Sports before this update. After this update it has 4 5-stars.

FAKE NEWS!

I'm curious how Dylan Moses wins the Butkus Award for the best High School Linebacker, and then drops 20 spots to last place among five stars.

Butkus didn't do these rankings and we didn't select the Butkus award
