I wouldn't say that necessarily.
If Saban can get his in-home in before Browning commits I like our chances.

AjA77 " I've been reading Brown a little different. He seems to have wanted Bama but parents prefer OSU. Also all the Recruiter predictions sort of stolen his big Announcement. I say this because there is no way Saban don't also do an all staff in home visit, if we lead the way all the predictions said we did. I'm not saying OSU did not do a good job with the Last shot.

How is it that every big time player we go head to head against Ohio State with winds up visiting them last?
I mean, we have our guys that we're able to get to come visit us last. They have theirs. It just coincidentally happens that every single guy we ever go head to head on happens to visit them right before making a decision, whether they've been the recruit's favorite at any point in the process before that or not.
That's kind of bad luck.

Well in the last four years they've only made the Big 10 Championship Game once. We've made the SEC Championship game three times in that span.

With Browning I think we were always fighting an uphill battle. The trip to the horseshoe had been planned for sometime for last weekend. I think if UA would have been near the top earlier we could have gotten the last OV. I think where we are now says a lot for this staff.

True. It's still annoying as heck, though. And like you say, we're always playing in a championship game. Ridiculous that that should be a disadvantage in any way. If the guys we're finalists for would just push their decision back a few days.

If it starts to negatively affect us on a large scale I can assure you Saban will push for some sort of change.

Also I think you have to look at it with Browning like this. OSU has been the leader since he decommitted it seems from Baylor until we made a late push. The fact he went into his last OV at OSU with his parents pushing OSU and did not commit to them on Tuesday speaks to itself about his interest in us. His delaying his decision right no in my opinion only helps our staff hold off the momentum OSU has. If he was such a lock to OSU he would be committed to them right now but he is not.
If he holds off until Saban can do an in home our chances may be a lot better then some think/

Agree, but it may be too late to win over the parents to that extent (if relationships are the factor with them).

But we're not pushing for him yet (or weren't before Jimbo decided to stay at FSU.... Stanford Samuels... now that he's staying, it'll probably be too tough to turn Samuels). That may have changed, but I haven't heard if it has. Still not sure we get him even if we go for an all out push.

Who else have we gone heat to head for over the past couple years? McMillan? Maybe Bosa but he was going to OSU. Bama beat out OSU for DePreist for sure.
They don't often target the same type of players for the skill positions (it is changing as Meyer has finally started bringing in some bigger bodies), and the needs are a bit different on defense with a 4-3 vs a 3-4.
I guess we got Chase Young this year, but I think Bama was a little late to that party

The news that LSU had offered 5-star Alabama quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa definitely sent shockwaves through the recruiting world because of several reports that Tigers coach Ed Orgeron is trying to hire Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin for the same position on his new staff.
But even if that happens, Tagovailoa won’t be following Kiffin to Baton Rouge. His father, Galu, told SEC Country that his son will not visit LSU and the only school he’s focused on remains Alabama.
“The only visit we have is to Alabama,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “We don’t have any other visits. We are still 100 percent locked in with Alabama.”
Tagovailoa will not change his commitment even if Kiffin decides to leave Alabama. While the family has developed a relationship with Kiffin, Nick Saban is who they communicate with more than the Alabama offensive coordinator.
“Lane Kiffin is an awesome and smart guy,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “We have much respect for that guy. But at the same time, we have built strong relationships with (outside linebackers coach) Tosh Lupoi and Nick Saban. Those are the two guys we’ve built a huge relationship with — not so much Lane. If Lane decides to move on with his career somewhere else, we wish him the best. We support him with whatever he’s going to do.”
The Tagovailoas spoke with Saban Wednesday and reassured him that the nation’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback will enroll at Alabama this January.
“I just wanted to tell him that Tua is locked in with Alabama,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “I didn’t want them to think we were going anywhere else. Saban said he knew that was the case because Tua is a man of his word.”
In addition to speaking with Saban, the Tagovailoas also called LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan’s family. A day after Tagovailoa picked up his LSU offer, Brennan took to Twitter to say that he was looking for other options just in case it didn’t work out with the Tigers. Ed Orgeron stated in his introductory press conference that he wants LSU to have a dual-threat quarterback under center, and Brennan isn’t that. He’s a pro-style prospect.
The Tagovailoas are family friends with the Brennans, and they just wanted to let them know that Tua wasn’t considering LSU and if Kiffin was to be the next offensive coordinator for the Tigers, they should give him a chance because he has the ability to run an offensive with either a pro-style or dual-threat quarterback. Alabama won the national championship last year with Jacob Coker, a pro-style quarterback.
“The reason why Alabama has Jalen Hurts in now is because he’s getting the job done,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “But Lane isn’t just a dual-threat guy. He’s a pro-style quarterback guy, too. I was telling (the Brennans) that he has the ability to coach both.”
It didn’t make sense at the time of the offer for Tagovailoa to consider LSU because he had never visited Baton Rouge before and only started talking to the Tigers’ coaching staff as of a few weeks ago. That wasn’t enough time to build solid relationships with LSU because of how strongly he views the Alabama staff.
“He really does look at Nick Saban as another father,” Galu Tagovailoa said. “He looks at Tosh like a brother. When he calls Tosh, Tua is always saying, ‘Hey, brother!’ He looks at both of those guys as people that he’s going to learn from.”
Tagovailoa will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7 and leave for Tuscaloosa shortly after that.

I think we came out ahead on that situation. He has been absolutely horrendous for Ohio State this season.
If we play them in the playoff and Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams get to rush the passer on his side:

Would be nice if the offensive brain trust figured out that they are allowed to chip with a TE or RB.
He has been fine after he gets engaged. It's the initial step and a half where he is just not there yet
