Orgeron won't even be in consideration for the HC in three weeks.
He probably may be one of our coaches by February.
Just sit back and watch their rollercoaster ride. They akways find some optimism or silver lining only to come crashing down in flames.

I wouldn't even be upset if Harris flipped to Michigan if it means we land Akers.
He's a better running back anyway.

Even Tim Watts said sources close to the program feel Akers is the best pure RB in this class.

Am I wrong for thinking Robinson isn't an SEC caliber back?

I think he can play in this league. He just isn't as good as the guys we have had over the past 9 years.

If we sign him, I kinda hope we bulk him up and use him as an Hback. Kinda like Fowler.

There is an Akers in every class. Hell Bama has 3 players on the roster right now that look exactly like akers.
Players like Harris only come around once every three to five years or so.
Harris is in that AP, LF, DH mold. Freakishly big dudes that are physical, but still have all the moves, and can outrun everyone on the field.
Harris is a cant miss prospect. He is the prototypical Bama running back. I wouldn't trade him for anyone in this class, last years class, or next years class.
Thats just my opinion though.

His sources must be a lot different from the guys that I pay attention to. You're putting too much stock into that one game on national TV when Harris was getting hit in the backfield every time he got the ball. But opinions are opinions. It's all good. They're both very, very good at the least.
Either way, if Harris comes to Bama and Akers doesn't, Harris will have the better college career. If Akers comes to Bama and Harris doesn't, Akers will have the better college career. Get on board The Machine or get run over by it.

I want Harris...kid is AP.

We don't have any running back on the roster who was ranked as highly as Akers. Period.

Blake Barnett was a can't miss prospect by the pundits too, whereas Jalen Hurts wasn't even invited to the Elite 11 finals.
Harris is great. Akers is better. Take your crimson glasses off and watch their film.

I put stock into watching Akers on a weekly basis. Clinton high school streams their games for free at arrowathletics.org.
Saying Akers is better than Harris is not a knock on Harris. He's still really good. Akers is just better. He's faster. Stronger. Shiftier.
If the script was flipped and Akers was a commit and Harris was a target everyone here would be saying Akers is better.

They are both great and we have one already? Who cares about Akers.
Posted on 10/15/16 at 11:46 pm to KareemAbdul
Well considering Harris isn't solid and appears to be enamored with Michigan at the moment, I care about Akers.
He may end up back in this class if Harris flips.

This is what Tim Watts had to say about Akers last August:

quote:
Spoke to multiple sources on UA's latest commitment Cam Akers and the reviews are unanimous. Every single one considers this an elite talent in the 2017 class. Spoke to one recruiter at another SEC school and he said that Akers is the top RB in his class and he wasn't sure its close from a pure RB standpoint.
As far as 'Bama was concerned he was a top target after his camp performance in Tuscaloosa where according to multiple sources he caught the eye of the entire Tide offensive staff. They have quietly been focusing on him since that time.

Is it a Harris or Akers situation? I realize thr staff wants both but are the kids opposed to playing together?
Posted on 10/16/16 at 8:44 am to TideSaint
Well one is in college doing great and one is in high school. I will take the Harris and focus on his play now. He is what matters and the other is a projection. Damn proud of Harris and how he is helping the team.

Najee Harris not Damien Harris.
Najee looking is one thing, we encourage players to look. Cam Akers didn't just look, he decommitted. Nothing shows he is concrete to commit again either.
