Shaun Wade is taking the ACT this weekend so he can't take his OV. His options moving forward, as far as game weekends go, are Mississippi State, A&M and UT-Chattanooga. His father has already said they can't make the Iron Bowl due to family coming in for the holiday.

Hank South still feels Alabama is in great shape to land Major Tennison.

Is Allen a EE? I think the EE will be most affected by the firing. I'm pretty sure Stevens, Moses and Buggs are EE.

I don't think so. His profile on 247 doesn't have the little clock on it.

Targets

However, Hank South said Shaun Wade as an EE yesterday and he doesn't have the clock by his profile either.

There aren’t many 6-foot-7, 350-pound giants who can move like Isaiah Wilson.

So why not put him in a goal line package and watch him work?

The Brooklyn, New York native and four-star offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite scored his first career touchdown — as a Wildcat quarterback — in a recent game this season.

Who's stopping that?

Wilson, the ninth-best player at his position in next year's class, is considering Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, and USC.

According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, the Crimson Tide leads by a narrow margin.

ETA: Holy shite. I just watched the video. He's fricking huge compared to the other team.

Devonta Smith

Predictions:
1) The new hire - and maybe Orgeron - will make this kid a priority if for no other reason than for show. They'll be obvious with their attempts to get him even if they don't think those attempts are high.

2) Their fans, who recently have said things like "good. don't recruit him just so he can get on campus and try to recruit for Bama" will change their tune and will say things like "I love that this staff isn't willing to concede ANY player to ANY school".

With a bye week on the schedule, a number of prospects from IMG Academy will be in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.

Five-star linebacker Dylan Moses and Tide long snapper commit Thomas Fletchers' official visits have been known for a while, but it's who they are bringing with them that might get Bama fans excited.

According to a Tweet from 2019 linebacker Zac Smith, 2017 four-star defensive end and Maryland commit Joshua Kaindoh, 2017 four-star defensive end and Georgia commit Robert Beal, 2019 four-star athlete and Bama commit Trey Sanders, as well as Smith are all traveling to Tuscaloosa as well.

BamaOnLine has yet to confirm Kaindoh's visit as he's expected to officially visit Maryland over the weekend.

Beal's visit will be an official, taking the total for the weekend to four if you include four-star linebacker Jacob Phillips from Nashville.

Ray getting comfortable with Dunbar

PINSON, Ala. — Alabama defensive line coach Karl Dunbar was in Pinson, Ala., Friday night at the James Clemens vs. Clay-Chalkville game to check out one of his top priorities in the Class of 2017: 4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray.

Ray, the nation’s No. 3 defensive end from James Clemens High School (Madison, Ala.), was in the backfield all night against Clay-Chalkville and played a big part in his team’s win. Ray’s dominant performance Friday night is one reason why Alabama wants him to commit to the Tide.

The state of Alabama’s No. 1 prospect visited Tuscaloosa for the Western Kentucky game a few weeks ago, and Dunbar sought out Ray on the sidelines during warm-ups. What was his main message to Ray?

“I’m ready for you to come play next year,” Ray said Dunbar told him. “We need you.”

Ever since Dunbar was hired by Alabama in May, he’s made sure Ray knows how much he’s wanted by the Tide. The two have gotten close over the past four months.

“We’re building a better relationship every day,” Ray said. “We’ve been talking pretty much ever since he got hired. When I went down there a few weeks ago, I saw that he kind of teaches the same things as (former Alabama assistant) Bo Davis did. There are a lot of similarities.”

Getting defensive linemen in this year’s class is arguably the team’s top priority because of the talent Alabama is going to lose this year. Alabama has only one defensive line commitment in 4-star defensive tackle Akial Byers.

Alabama is the overwhelming favorite to land Ray when he makes his commitment, mainly because of the numerous trips he’s taken to Tuscaloosa over the past several months and the fact that two of his good friends, 4-star offensive guard Kendall Randolph and 3-star defensive back Kyriq McDonald, are committed to the Tide.

Ray is aware that almost everyone following his recruitment believes he’ll end up at Alabama. But he wants to be clear that a decision has not been made just yet.

“You got to think about it — it’s not what everyone else thinks because you’re the one who has to go there,” Ray said. “You have to make the best decision for you and your family, so I think that’s what fans need to understand.”

The Under Armour All-American is still considering his top 6 schools of Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi State. The only official visit he has set up is to Florida for the LSU game on Oct. 8. His other visits are going to happen in December and January. Alabama and Tennessee are two schools guaranteed to get visits.

He is still saying that a commitment could come on one of those official visits. If not, look for his decision on signing day.

It would be a shocker if he committed to any school other than Alabama.

“Alabama is definitely one of those places I can see myself at,” Ray said. “It’s one of the home-state schools. It definitely has that home feeling with me being only two hours away.”

The latest with Collins

A few months ago, if you had told me that 4-star wide receiver Nico Collins wasn’t going to be a part of Alabama’s 2017 class, I would have called you crazy. Now, if you tell me that Collins is going to be a part of the Tide’s class, I’ll just look at you a little funny.

Collins, the nation’s No. 13 wide receiver from Clay-Chalkville High School (Pinson, Ala.), says Alabama, Georgia and Michigan are tied at the top in his recruitment. The reality is, Alabama is more so No. 3 in the race to land the state of Alabama’s No. 3 prospect.

Sources close to Collins’ recruitment have told SEC Country that the Bulldogs and Wolverines are ahead of the Crimson Tide. That’s the way it has been for several months now and nothing has changed.

Collins is still saying all of the right things, though. He still loves Alabama and can visualize himself in a Tide jersey come next year.

“It is close to home; I have a (former) teammate (wide receiver T.J. Simmons) up there who would be there with me,” Collins told Jeff Sentell of DawgNation. “The coaching staff is just amazing and I can really see myself there.”

Alabama has two wide receiver commitments in this year’s recruiting class in 4-star recruits Jerry Jeudy and Tyrell Shavers, and it’s in good position to add 4-star players Devonta Smith and Henry Ruggs III down the road. The Tide are likely to sign only four receivers, and those are the four I expect to end up with Alabama.

That possibly could change if Collins chooses Alabama on signing day.
“They have always let me know that they will have room for me,” Collins said. “They always say I am a top priority and they follow through with that. That’s the way they continue to make me feel. Everybody says that, but I do know that about Alabama.”

Dunbar and and fellow Alabama assistant Mario Cristobal were both at Collins’ game Friday night. Cristobal, who recruits the Birmingham area, has really made Collins a priority. But I don’t believe it’s going to matter in the end.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound prospect seems like the kind of kid who wants to do his own thing and not what his community may want. And I think in the end, his desire to go to college out of Alabama will be why the Tide lose out on Collins.

There’s been a lot of discussion about how much of an impact LSU’s decision to fire Les Miles might have on recruiting.

Will it help the Tigers' rivals? Can they hold this year’s class together? And what about the prospects themselves?

We take a look at the five players whose recruitments could be impacted the most by Miles’ dismissal and how things could play out going forward.

Dylan Moses

Background: Moses started picking up scholarships as a middle schooler and ever since then it’s been a likely battle between LSU and Alabama for his services. He was a longtime Tigers commitment, but when things got shaky with Miles last year, Moses opened back up his recruitment. Since then several schools have jumped in the mix, but the Tigers have remained the favorite up until this weekend.

Most likely to capitalize: Alabama

Moses has always had an affinity for the Tide, even moreso since he’s shifted his focus to playing solely linebacker at the next level. With changes likely coming to LSU’s staff once a new coach comes in, Alabama could make a serious move leading up this Moses’ December decision.

Cam Akers

Background: The one-time Alabama commit was very high on LSU prior to the start of the season and seemed like he could be in line to take over for Leonard Fournette in 2017. But the change in Baton Rouge could open the door for several programs to make a renewed pitch to Akers. This weekend he’ll visit Georgia, and Florida State, Auburn and Tennessee are also working to get him back on campus.

Most likely to capitalize: Ole Miss

If there’s one thing for certain when it comes to Akers, it’s his love for his home state. Assuming the Rebels can continue navigate the investigation related to Laremy Tunsil and come away without major infractions, they could be in prime position to land Akers.

JaCoby Stevens

Background: Stevens originally committed to LSU as a junior last fall, but it didn’t take long for him to back off that commitment. When Miles originally came under scrutiny, Stevens decommitted and completely reset his recruiting process. After nearly committing to Georgia and then Alabama, he ended up back in the fold with the Tigers last month.

Most likely to capitalize: Alabama

Up until the weekend before he announced his decision last month, Stevens was still weighing his options between the Tide and the Tigers. Late in the summer, Alabama even sent five coaches to a satellite camp in Nashville just to get some extra time with Stevens. If the new coach in Baton Rouge doesn’t retain assistant coach Corey Raymond, Alabama could move into prime position.

Tyler Shelvin

Background: Shelvin is the longest standing commitment in the class of 2017 for the Tigers and has been committed since March of 2015. He took the news of Miles dismissal hard, even going as far to call the news “devastating.” Interim head coach Ed Orgeron has also been involved with Shelvin’s recruitment over the past year, but it’s clear Shelvin and his family had a bond with Miles.

Most likely to capitalize: It’s tough just to pick one school here as Shelvin has been so locked in with the Tigers for so long. He’s already set an official visit to Alabama for the Auburn game, but Nebraska, Florida State and Texas A&M have all been making a push to get Shelvin on campus as well.

Todd Harris, a 4-star in-state safety, is considered by many to be a LSU lean. Harris was a big fan of Miles and said he was caught off-guard with the termination. He added he'll continue to take his time with his recruiting process and will keep monitoring the Tigers.

"I have the utmost respect for Coach Miles. He was the first to offer me a scholarship to play football at the next level," Harris said. "It's heartbreaking, honestly. With all this, I'm just going to see how all this plays out."
