I'll go further and say they will be harder than OM. Knight has already shown his ability to Garcia us and tamu seems to have a better defense than OM.

When A&M knows that a pass is coming, they are hell. It's going to be tough beating them

They have bye week before they play us. Will be the toughest game of the year.

A&M is soft up the middle like Ole Miss. Let's hope Lane doesn't overlook that.

We are gonna have to pop the hell out of Knight

From Rusty Mansell:
quote:
I got to see James Clemens vs Clay Chalkville last night.
Been in the business now 8.5 years. I can tell you right now that LaBryan Ray is a stud. That is a GROWN arse MAN. (To Me) He is a sure fire 5-star prospect. He has size, he can bend, he plays fast, strong and smart. He knows how to set the edge, he can bull rush when needed. That kid is going to be a star. Everything I heard last night there was ALL BAMA. Karl Dunbar was there watching what I saw.
Kyriq Mcdonald reminds me of a former UGA DB, Brandon Boykin, who is in his 5th year in the NFL. McDonald is not the biggest dude, but he can fly and he is tough. When I saw him in pre-game, he does not strike you as a Bama DB, but I know why they are taking him because he is a football player. Made big plays all night long with great instincts.

With Miles gone, who do we turn up the pressure on?
Posted on 9/25/16 at 3:52 pm to Bamad
Dylan Moses
Chris Allen
Tyler Shelvin
JaCoby Stevens
I guess it also depends on who the new coach retains. If Austin Thomas stays then Stevens may as well. If Orgeron is retained I assume Shelvin would stay. Keeping Aranda may be enough to land Allen.
It's all speculation now though.

Jacoby Stevens (who we might have signed anyway) from their commitment list. Chris Allen and Phidarian Mathis among uncommitted guys. Tough to tell just how much we really like Moses. Shelvin... has to lose about 50 lbs. anyway.

How many of L5U's commitments will be gullible/stupid enough to believe that Coach O will be the new coach there (going into next year)? It seems like every year some team makes a coaching change where they retain a popular recruiter assistant as the interim coach. Unfailingly, a few recruits are dumb enough to believe that that coach will be kept on as head coach when 100% of the rest of the world knows he has no shot.

I said this before the season started. They seem to be balance on D to handle the pass rush and run stopping. They have one of the best WR corps but that will depend on which Knight shows up and they can run the ball somewhat well.
They will be the most balanced team across the board we definitely will face in the conference.

Rodney Orr mentioned Buggs earlier tonight. We've made a move on him recently. Of course, as has been mentioned numerous times, have to get him on campus. It's sort of strange that he hasn't been yet. We've been in on him forever, and he's even visited the Barn in that time frame. Weird.

Does the emergence of Joshua Jacobs (and some BJ Emmons that will be mixed in) hurt us with Najee Harris?
Posted on 9/25/16 at 8:48 pm to AllBamaDoesIsWin
I wouldn't think so. Every program has some young RBs on the roster. None of ours are superstars (yet). But someone like Harris shouldn't be bothered even if we had a sophomore-year Derrick Henry on the roster. He's going to play early and often wherever.
One thing is for sure. We don't misevaluate too many RBs, do we? We're about as close to 100 percent on a hit/success rate at signing RBs and them panning out in college as is humanly possible for a program it seems.

This. Our D is so much better at dealing with an athletic QB now. No one can stop perfect passing, but with Knight you just keep him from squaring his shoulders and planting his feet. You do not have to hit him to do this, and I think we do it AND hit him.
On the other side, run right at Miles Garrett.

In theory, you're right. In practice, we've not exactly proven that yet with Deshaun Watson and Chad Kelly. Hopefully our DBs do a better job playing the ball against A&M than they did against OM. That game was almost another disaster against those guys.

I have always hated going up against a Chavis defense. I'll be so happy when he retires

Oddly, Arkansas' DC has kind of had our number the past couple years.

When he looks at the stat sheet from ole miss and sees that Hurts had about 150 rushing. He will throw the past 2 years out the window.
