Even though we didn't hear anything about our WR leans/commits (thought to be the strength of the class), everybody else that we have there that's a lean or commit seemed to absolutely knock it out of the park. Good day for a lot of our targets. And sounds like Leatherwood will get a well deserved rise to consensus top 5 overall. Long overdue.

Rodney Orr has been hinting strongly that the mutual interest is very high on Major Tennison for a couple weeks now. He's been saying to keep a close eye on him. We apparently like him a lot.

I'll add to that (about Leatherwood), to his credit, redfish has been saying that Leatherwood is just as much of a slam dunk elite 5* OT as CamRob and Jonah Williams were since well before the camp season. In fact, he's said that Williams and Leatherwood are 2 of the top 5 or so OT prospects he's seen on film (and I guess that goes back 20 years or so). He's not generally the type to sugarcoat too much or use too much hyperbole. Let's hope he's right.

How the heck is this guy a 3*?? The recruiting services' rankings of TEs baffles me. I guess it's more tricky now with so many Spread offenses in HS trying to project guys that can fit in pro-style offenses. But this guy looks to have it all to my eyes. Am I missing something? He even gets behind the defenses a lot and outruns some guys at 6'6" (and he looks every inch of that) and 245. He's obviously a good blocker. What are their criteria for ranking TEs these days?

I hope Tennison commits. We can wait to use him until the last game of his junior year.

I really do want him to commit. He looks like a Stanford type TE, which is a good thing.

Yes, it is a good thing. Those guys churn out NFL tight ends like we do LBs and OL in recent years.

Looks like we're righting the ship after a couple of poor evaluations on TEs in past years and a little leanness at that position. Now that Hentges looks like the real deal, Forristall looks like a beast of a receiving TE if the Spring and A-Day game are any indication, and if we're right about Irv Smith (in thinking he looks like he'll be a good one), we are building that position up again with quality across the board.

I agree but people want as much info as they can get.

I don't know it well, but don't OL and DL compete as well? Didn't see 1 in the top 30 which could mean there is a need to revamp the formula a bit

We have not had much success with small running backs.

Deals mostly with speed and agility I think. Don't think weight is factored. Could be wrong.

Does that mean the in state TE we have expected in the class is left out (sorry, name escapes me)?

Class of 2017 Recruiting MEGATHREAD: The Opening/Elite 11 Week Edition The buckeye on this board is actually a good poster and is always cordial. Let's not being snotty toward him. Plus as long as Harbaugh is acting like a frickboy and my fiancee is in school in Columbus then I have to have the smallest bit of love for OSU.

Thanks. I just like to talk crootin and always think it's funny that "insiders" always have counter info to other insiders based on teams

Baker is a JUCO......only two years eligibility, and even could leave after one.

I can not seem to find any of The Opening on the Tube. Anyone know when where and what time it may be on?
