I can't help but push a little in that thread. I've long been vocal that I'd rather take the in-state guy. But I understand the situation. Especially at OL.

Don't forget about Troxell coming off the ACL injury as well. I'm sure that played a big part in our staff's decision to pursue the out of state guys more. I mean, who knows how Troxell is going to recover from the injury at this point? He hasn't played one snap since it happened.

When it's all said and done Troxell= Tyler Love.

I doubt it. At least not for the reasons Love failed.

We need to go ahead and flip Shaun Wade and get the rest of our WR's and DL. Once we do that and add a couple of OL we will be damn near done.

Ohio state gonna make it hard to retain that #1 class this year.

They are all paper till they get enrolled and actually do something.

OSU prob won't be able to fit enough kids in for the #1 class. Good chance it ends with the highest average for player from 247 in a long while though. They are already over 94 average and not sure they are taking anyone left who is below that

ATLANTA -- They say a camp setting is a tough place for an offensive lineman to shine, but that wasn’t the case at this year’s Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour, as several of the country’s top lineman turned in impressive performances. Here’s a breakdown of which prospects stood out the most.

Alex Leatherwood
Recruiting wrap: Leatherwood is committed to Alabama.
Performance: Although it was tightly contested for most of the competition, Leatherwood ended up walking way with MVP award after losing just one total rep during the one-on-one competition period. The big-bodied prospect plays with a mean streak and looks like he could play guard or tackle at the next level.

ATLANTA -- A substantial group of players at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge presented by Under Armour hailed from Texas. Among the bunch from the Lone Star State, several staked their claim as players who exceeded expectations while a few may have hoped to get some better results. The group as a whole did well, but the microscope shows some telling things about some top Texans.

Marvin Wilson
Yes, Wilson is the top overall prospect in the country. Yes, he took defensive line MVP honors, but a couple of things factor in here: 1. Though he took a ton of 1-on-1 reps, he didn’t outright dominate as the No. 1 player in the country is expected to. 2. The focus of this story is inherently hyper-critical as it looks solely at players from one state, rather than a larger region or the whole field of players. 3. As the top player nationally, there is nowhere to go but down.
Make no mistake, Wilson showed nothing to suggest he wouldn’t be a disruptive, impactful player with pads and a uniform on in a real game. In the context of the camp, he was too committed to his first pass-rush move -- or bull-rushing -- and didn’t consistently do well to counter when an offensive lineman beat him to a spot off the snap.

With the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented By Under Armour in the rearview mirror, everyone wants to know two things – how well the prospects their team is recruiting performed and, where are the uncommitted prospects going? All this week, we’ve covered the first part with position rankings, ups and downs, All-Farrell teams and the like. Now we have the latter covered as well with my educated guesses.
Important Note: It’s June 17, a game hasn’t been played in the 2016 season, coaches haven’t been fired and assistant coaches haven’t moved around like chess pieces on the board. Don’t hold me to these (unless I get them right). Here are my predictions for the offensive uncommitted players who competed at the Georgia Dome.

RUNNING BACKS
Najee Harris is committed to Alabama but it wouldn’t stun me to see him flip and stay closer to home in the end while Stephen Carr is committed to USC but will look around as well. That leaves two uncommitted RBs.
Cam Akers
PREDICTION: Ole Miss. He’s an in-state kid and many others are in the mix, but barring an NCAA beatdown, I think he stays home with the Rebels.
D'Andre Swift
PREDICTION: Georgia. I think the Dawgs are positioning themselves very nicely here with multiple visits and a great recent running back tradition.

WIDE RECEIVERS
There were a ton of uncommitted wide receivers at the event and many of them are very hard to read, so this will be interesting. KD Nixon is committed to Tennessee, but he might end up elsewhere. Here are the rest:
Jerry Jeudy
PREDICTION: Alabama. ‘Bama has been his leader for a long time and I think he sticks with that until the end.
Henry Ruggs
PREDICTION: Alabama. He’s apparently No. 1 on ‘Bama’s board because of his elite speed and he’s been linked to them for a while so I’ll go with the Tide.
Devonta Smith
PREDICTION: LSU. The Odell Beckham Jr. comparisons aside, he’s an in-state kid who is a priority for the Tigers so I think they get him.
Couple things, I highly doubt Ruggs is #1 on our board. It would suck to lose Smith to L5U.
