Will Ignont (Buckhorn, Ala./Buckhorn) told Dawgs247 last month that he had made a silent commitment to Alabama, but on Friday he revealed a new program was atop his list.
"Georgia is my leader," Ignont said.
Ignont is expected to visit Georgia late next week. If you didn't believe me, here you go. Now it looks like the barn is his leader.lol He's had quite an eventful couple of weeks. Silently committed to us, Saban told him now you don't have a spot, Uga is his leader, now the barn might be his leader.lol I'm starting to believe that the rumors of him doing something at Img are true.

He magically works it out every year. I don't see how sometimes. Lol He's the master at it! If we sign 37, I don't see how anyone can beat us. Ohio state has a dang good class, and the only shot I think but I don't think they will beat us. Especially if we flip Shaun wade from them.

I thought everyone but Hulk jones enrolled, but I missed last week spending time with family from California. I must have missed that King hasn't made it. Dang, I hope he makes it in cause we need him bad! Especially with Jones not making it. Our Dt depth was already lacking. I really like Kings potential too, was expecting him to make a big impact.

Was told tonight that BAMA went as far as asking Ignont to take a drug test..........and yes, he tried to unsuccessfully make a commitment to BAMA.

Seems there was some trouble down at IMG while he was there, either him partaking or selling (heard both from different sources)

Markail Benton doesn't plan on taking any more visits at this time.

Not sure I believe that he won't take any more visits.

South's No. 2 ILB Markail Benton picks 'Bama, becomes third Crimson Tide pledge in five days
John Garcia, Jr.

The defending national champions are on a recruiting roll. Alabama kicked off its summer camp season with a pair of commitments this week -- four-star offensive lineman Elliot Baker Monday and four-star quarterback Mac Jones Tuesday -- and it adds a third from the loaded group Friday, this one of the in-state variety.

Four-star Phenix City (Ala.) Central linebacker Markail Benton announced his commitment to the program Friday afternoon from the school's auditorium.
"The atmosphere at Alabama is amazing. I have been there for games and it is so loud every time," Benton previously told Scout. "I like how they play hard and physical. Their defense is always fast and they showed that against Leonard Fournette this year."
Selecting Alabama over finalists Auburn and Florida State, the rising-senior had long thought of making a late commitment in the cycle, perhaps at the Under Armour All-America Game, in which he's slated to participate in January. Just 24 hours prior to the decision, Benton said he hadn't yet selected between the finalists.

Long in the discussion for the top spot in Alabama's class of 2017 state rankings, he currently sits at No. 3 behind offensive lineman Austin Troxell, who presumably will also decide between the Iron Bowl rivals, as well as top wide receiver Nico Collins. Benton joins fellow in-state four-stars Chadarius Townsend and Brian Robinson on the current Crimson Tide commitment list, up to 12 prospects after the big week. The run vaulted the program near the top of the Scout team recruiting rankings.

Benton will compete among America's best at The Opening Finals, held at Nike's headquarters, for a second straight year from July 6-10.

Scout's scouting report on Benton:

quote:

[Benton plays outside linebacker and is used as a blitzer and in coverage a lot in high school. His future is inside. He can get downhill well and he is an athletic linebacker. He already has the size of a college linebacker. He is filled out and has a great frame for college coaches work with. One area he can improve on is playing more physical. Can attack a little more. He gets to the ball well, but he can be a better finisher. He has shown the ability to run and he can overpursue at times, so playing under better control is something he can work on as well. Overall, a prototypical linebacker with size and speed.
