It appears that way. I just wish he would go ahead and make it official.

I'm sure a few fan bases have already started to erupt

Wilson has a handler, and it's expected to be a huge bidding war. The general thought among the folks who seem to know people inside the program is that Bama doesn't have much of a shot, but will recruit him hard throughout the process. These same people were alerting to be aware of Ole Miss when it was thought to be A&M/Bama last year for Greg Little, and they are saying to be aware of OM this year with Wilson, even though people have said LSU/Bama publicly. Not sure if the NCAA investigation is/will change that, but there's not much confidence at all in the Bama camp with him. And it's already a bit of an awkward recruitment.

Cam Akers doesn't want to play at a place that is "all business". I can understand that. I've heard the Music City/Outback/Texas Bowls are a lot of fun. Who wouldn't want to experience that?

And Alabama can't take the chance on a RB that might transfer after a year or two because he is overwhelmed by the "all business" approach (ala Alvin Kamara).
It's going to take a few classes to rebuild our RB depth when starters usually leave after their junior season for the NFL. Add in recent transfers and expulsions and you have our current predicament. Akers is one of the two most talented backs in the country. But Alabama isn't for everyone. We need guys that will be here 2-3 years from now.

Player Movement in Rivals' Position Rankings
quote:
2017 PRO-STYLE QUARTERBACK RANKINGS
NOTABLE RISER: Kasim Hill, Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College High (Up 7 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Ty Brock, College Station, Texas (Down 1 spot)
COMMENTS: Hill, a Maryland commit, is one of three prospects in the ranking that moved up from a 5.8 to a 5.9 Rivals Rating, with Penn State commit Sean Clifford and Alabama commit Mac Jones being the other two. All three now rank in the top eight at the position. Clemson commit Hunter Johnson remains No. 1 in the ranking and the top four stays the same from the previous update. California native Chase Garbers makes the highest debut at No. 13.

2017 WIDE RECEIVER RANKINGS
NOTABLE RISER: DeVonta Smith, Amite, La. (Up 32 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Princeton Fant, LaVergne, Tenn. (Down 43 spots)
COMMENTS: Alabama native Nico Collins is one of the new five-stars in this update, and he cracks the top five at No. 4. Smith’s big move sees him jump all the way up to No. 8 and earning a spot in the Rivals100 for the first time. Oklahoma commitCharleston Rambo and fellow Texas native Tyrell Shavers also make big jumps that earn them spots inside the top 20. This ranking now features five five-stars, including No. 3 overall and No. 1 at the position, Trevon Grimes.

2017 WEAKSIDE DEFENSIVE END RANKINGS
NOTABLE RISER: Hunter Echols, Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral (Up 13 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Taquon Graham, Temple, Texas (Down 12 spots)
COMMENTS: The biggest news at the top of this ranking is UCLA commit Jaelan Phillips moving in from outside linebacker and earning his fifth star, making him the No. 3 player in this ranking. His fellow future Bruin, Echols, checks in at No. 4 after his big jump and just outside five-star territory. Three new four-stars – Alabama commit Aaron Sterling, Tennessee native LaTrell Bumphus and Georgia native Drew Jordan – move into the top 20.
So Sterling got his 4th star.

2017 DEFENSIVE TACKLE RANKINGS
NOTABLE RISER: Akial Byers, Fayetteville, Ark. (Up 20 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Camaron Spence, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (Down 21 spots)
COMMENTS: Five-stars Marvin Wilson and Tyler Shelvin stay at Nos. 1 and 2. Utah native Jay Tufele cracks the top five after a slight upward move. Byers is part of a group of five players ranked between Nos. 9 and 19 who saw their Rivals Ratings increase in this update. That group also includes Las Vegas’ Greg Rogers and Dallas’Damion Daniels. The highest debut is made by Nashville’s Rutger Reitmaier at No. 25.

2017 ATHLETE RANKINGS
NOTABLE RISER: Jaylon Redd, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (Up 23 spots)
NOTABLE DROPPER: Bruce Judson, Cocoa, Fla. (Down 9 spots)
COMMENTS: The top five at this position looks completely different following the post-spring update. Prospects moving in and out of the position accounts for much of the movement, including at No. 1, where five-star Dylan Moses is back at the top after spending some time at the outside linebacker ranking. He is followed byBrendon White at No. 2 after a big upward move from the Ohio State commit. Redd now checks in at No. 4 after his 23-spot jump.

Don't care about Akers. Like I've been saying since before he decommitted, we have the two guys I want at RB in this cycle. Robinson might (SHOULD) be a 5* before it's all over, is the perfect Bama back, has a tremendous work ethic, and wants badly to be at UA. It couldn't be any better at RB recruiting this year.
