Kirby also basically told him he wasn't good enough to start at Bama, but was at Georgia.lol I don't see how that helps with recruits. If someone told me I wasn't good enough to start somewhere, I would take that as an insult.

Please, tell me that Kirby isn't doing that shite. People using the age thing against Saban is bad enough, but telling a kid that he isn't good enough, is just a scumbag move.

Bama lock. Bama will have a open inside linebacker spot open for Johnson next year.
Ben Davis and Rashaan Evans may disagree.

Makes me feel better about him since he said he was 70% committed. If he said 100 or 200% awwww dang!

Evans will move back to outside linebacker next year.

Lol ok coach Saban. We haven't even gotten through 2016 yet.

Saban always tries to get the best players on the field. Next year at linebacker that will be Johnson, Davis, Evans and Miller. Johnson and Davis at inside linebacker and Evans and Miller on the outside. If it wasn't for Anderson and Williams on the outside this year, Evans would still be playing on the outside.

Lol! Yeah I know, 500 percent and he would he would decommit tomorrow.

There's no doubt he can do play both, but he's better suited inside. Hope he puts on atleast 5 lbs in the offseason though. He will be more productive inside making plays all over the field, unlike playing outside just rushing the qb. The kid can close on ball carrier as best as we've had in a long time. He still has some learning to do obviously, but by the start of the season or midseason at latesf he will be showing off.

Uhh..Mac Wilson might have something to say about that?

It's probably going to take 2 years for Wilson to see meaningful playing time

I agree with this. Not due to ability, but the talent in front of him.

You guys might want to pump the brakes on Ben Davis a bit. He has terrific upside, but he's more raw than many of the other elite LBs we've signed in the Saban era. Needs to get a lot more physical at the point of attack. Based on what I've seen from people with connections, the staff isn't as high on him as an immediate impact player as the recruitniks. He'll be good eventually, but let's pump the brakes a tad here. I hope the recruitniks are the ones that are correct, though.
With our huge need at ILB in the coming year or two, I don't anticipate Evans moving back to OLB in 2017. Keep an eye on Mekhi Brown. He's really added a lot of good muscle weight and is over 250 now. Could be ready for action by 2017.

Wilson needs to grow up some. We'll see how he translates to no longer being the big man on campus. Great ability, but some attitude issues in HS. I would temper my expectations on both of last year's prized in-state LBs as far as immediate impact goes and hope they surprise us (to the good).

I still believe Josh McMillon will be a pretty good player, if he can stay healthy.

So as not to be Debbie Downer this evening, I'll add that the same people who were saying that about Wilson and Davis rave about Terrell Hall, Quinnen Williams, and Jared Mayden. They think Hall is a monster, Quinnen Williams will play a lot by year 2, and that we won the lottery with Mayden (4 star, top 150 guy who our DC thinks should have been a 5 star). Help is on the way in bunches. We just need to shore up front 7 depth in this next class.

I asked specifically about him recently, as I liked him a lot out of HS as a thumper ILB type. Even though the game has changed and you need smaller LBs that can run, I like having one of these guys on scholarship for the LSU's, Arkansas', and Georgia's of the world. Unfortunately, the feedback wasn't what I hoped to hear. We'll see how he moves around after another year or so and more time removed from the ACL tear.

Is he having a difficult time recovering or just adjusting to the college game?
