Keep an eye on 2018 cornerback Gilbert Frierson (Coral Gables, Fla.) and 2017 wide receiver Edward Curry (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Archbishop McCarthy). Two prospects that are just starting to draw interest.
Alabama, Georgia and West Virginia offered Frierson this afternoon.

On BOL it appears as if Hank posted an article indicating we now lead for Davis, but who knows with the way they write stuff.

Yeah we lead for Ben Davis. ESPN reporting it as well.

From the AU recruiting thread:
I hate Tennessee.

Nigel Warrior's mom liked the AU visit a lot and said AU pitched early playing time, "something important" to her son. Tennessee gets the last visit though and will probably lock him up then IMO.

Bama has always lead for Ben Davis. Same for Mack Wilson. The kids have to get their spotlight.

I think Saban is just trying to prove a point now.

Also if Mecole doesn't make the trip next weekend, it's over for us right?
He took his official to UGA this weekend instead.

He's playing in the International Bowl the last weekend before NSD is what I've read.
He gone to UGA. Hope he enjoys the Belk Bowl.

Lucky has Kongbo to UT
E'rybody has Mayden to OU
Several Mecole to UGA

You read that like 10 tweet exchange with some Bama fan that basically told him he sucked on twitter? Mecole went HAM on him.
Also, what a dumbass that guy was.

I did not. Some of our fans give me the
And I'd rather Mecole be in Athens recruiting for them than in Tuscaloosa recruiting for them.

Alabama made its best push to flip D'Vaughn Pennamon, a four-star running back from Manvel, Texas, while he was on his official visit to Tuscaloosa. But Pennamon remains committed to Ole Miss, the school where he'll officially visit next weekend.
Pennamon said he had a "great weekend" to Alabama and that all of his questions - mostly from the academic side - were answered. True freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts, also a Texas native, was his player host. Alabama head coach Nick Saban visited Pennamon late last week. Pennamon earned his Crimson Tide offer last fall.
"I feel like they're making me a high priority," Pennamon said. "They just lost two guys and they need a couple of guys. The opportunity is there." He measured in at 6-foot and 3/4, weighing 217 pounds.
"I just have to sit down with my family and we'll discuss that and we'll make the decision come a week and a half," Pennamon said.
"They did a great job. My host was great. I had a great hostess. All of my questions were answered. They just left a really good impression on me. I had academic questions. I wasn't really focused on football because I know what they do in football. I wanted to get the academic side.

Nice to see Hurts finally involved in some recruiting.

Four-star wide receiver Mykel Jones from Patterson High School in Louisiana took his official visit to Alabama last weekend, hosted by the four-star wide receiver from that same high school that signed with the Tide last year — Daylon Charlot.
Jones has three finalists: Alabama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.
"I think that he's going to use his visits the correct way. He'll sit down with his family. They're going to discuss his best options, and he's going to make a decision based on everything that he's experienced the last couple years with those three schools to see what's going to be best for him education-wise and athletically," Blanchard said.
Part of the reason Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee are Jones' three finalists: While other schools showed less interest after Jones suffered the torn ACL, all three of those teams were supportive and remained in contact.
"After the injury, there were some schools that stayed in contact pretty steady, pretty consistently, but there was a good bit of them that he never heard from again," Blanchard said. "And it's not a knock on those teams. That's the way it goes. ... But Mykel's big on loyalty. He's big on trust. And all three schools have done a good job, a tremendous job of staying after him and staying in contact with him and trying to follow up with him with his injury, and he respects that."

Alabama legacy Ben Davis left Tuscaloosa this weekend with a new leader. Alabama, following his official visit, has overtaken Georgia. He said they were even earlier this week.
"Just because I had a great visit, and that's what it ultimately came down to, my visit," the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Davis said. "Auburn is my No. 3 school and they might end up jumping in front of everybody when I come back. I'm ready to get down there and see some more of Auburn."
...
"It was real good meeting some more of the guys," Davis said. "I already knew (Madison, Miss., DB) Nigel Knott and (Macon, Miss., DL) Jeffery Simmons, but seeing another side of it, it's always the athletic side but I got to see the academics and get some questions answered. It was real informative."
Davis and Carver-Montgomery linebacker Lyndell "Mack" Wilson had a funny incident while driving golf carts at Saban's house earlier Sunday.
"We had a little wreck there toward the end," Davis said. "It wasn't my fault. Me and Mack were racing. I don't know if he was looking at his phone or what, but we ended up bumping in to each other." Davis said he will make his decision on Signing Day at 9 a.m. on ESPNU.
