53. 4-star CB Shyheim Carter
Height/Weight: 6'0", 190 lbs
High School: Kentwood High School (Kentwood, Louisiana)
247Sports Ranking: No. 5 CB; No. 53 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 94/100
Uncommitted: Considering Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss
Entering the second week of January, Shyheim Carter hadn't set an official visit. After decommitting from Alabama in August, Carter has been taking his time with recruiting and finalizing his college plans.
Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss are three schools that could ultimately land Carter on national signing day. Whichever school gets him will get an athlete who can line up at multiple positions on both sides of the ball.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Carter's strongest assets are his versatility and athleticism, as he can play cornerback or safety on defense and any of the skill positions on offense. He has quick feet and good hands, making one-on-one matchups difficult for opposing wide receivers.
Carter's competitive nature is something to be admired, and he plays with a high level of confidence. It will be interesting to see where college coaches choose to use him in the secondary.

50. 4-star ATH Devin Asiasi
Height/Weight: 6’3”, 270 lbs
High School: De La Salle High (Concord, California)
247Sports Ranking: No. 4 ATH, No. 50 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 90/100
Uncommitted: Considering Alabama, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington
Similar to Devin White, 4-star California athlete Devin Asiasi is another jumbo prospect who could play either tight end or defensive end at the next level.
As a junior, Asiasi racked up five sacks and 264 yards receiving with two scores.
Alabama, Oregon and Washington are among the programs trying to lure away Asiasi from Golden State powers UCLA and USC.
Bleacher Report Analysis
At 270 pounds, Asiasi is an intriguing option at either defensive end or tight end. However, his highest ceiling may be on offense simply because there aren’t many players his size who can do the things he does. He’s athletic enough to flex out as a receiver and is already an above-average route-runner. He’s got great hands, knows how to attack the ball in the air and has the size to mature into a good in-line blocker.
He still has to learn the finer points of playing tight end, but the potential is there for him to develop into a star.

36. 4-star DE Jeffery Simmons
Height/Weight: 6'3 ½", 277 lbs
High School: Noxubee County High School (Macon, Mississippi)
247Sports Ranking: No. 3 SDE; No. 36 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 94/100
Uncommitted: Considering Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama and Tennessee
The race for Jeffery Simmons will come down to the wire, as he has January visits scheduled to Mississippi State, Alabama and Ole Miss. Simmons, who already has visited Tennessee, is expected to make a decision on national signing day.
The winning school will get a player who has been on a steady rise in the 2016 player rankings. A U.S. Army All-American, Simmons has gone from a top-125 player to a top-40 player since the summer.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Simmons is a big-bodied athlete who uses his hands well to outplay offensive linemen in one-on-one situations. He's a strong athlete who moves well from side to side, and when he's not rushing the quarterback, he serves as a solid run-stopper.
At 277 pounds, Simmons already has the size of a college-ready defensive end. What coaches like is that he plays the game with a lot of emotion.

30. 4-star WR Tyler Vaughns
Height/Weight: 6'1 ½", 177 lbs
High School: Bishop Amat High School (La Puente, California)
247Sports Ranking: No. 1 wide receiver; No. 30 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 96/100
Committed to USC on Aug. 19, 2015
Tyler Vaughns pledged to the Trojans following several unofficial visits to campus. His commitment came slightly more than a month after fellow Bishop Amat wide receiver Trevon Sidney announced intentions to play at USC.
Alabama, Georgia and Washington were among a long list of programs that also pursued him. Vaughns is the most highly regarded receiver among four USC commits on this list.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Vaughns extends for the football at all points, exhibiting great body control in tight coverage. Extremely reliable hands pulled down a vast majority of "50-50" balls during his high school career, making him a go-to target in crunch time.
He doesn't necessarily need to gain significant separation from a defender in order to find the football, utilizing an expansive wingspan that creates coveted catch radius. Vaughns is adept at gaining yards after a reception with smooth strides downfield, helping him rack up 2,502 yards and 25 touchdowns on 167 receptions as an upperclassman, per MaxPreps.

24. 5-star ATH Demetris Robertson
Height/Weight: 5’11 ¾”, 175 lbs
High School: Savannah Christian Prep High School (Savannah, Georgia)
247Sports Ranking: No. 2 ATH, No. 24 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 92/100
Uncommitted: Considering Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford
Alabama held an early pledge from 5-star athlete Demetris Robertson, who reopened his recruitment last spring.
However, the Tide are still in the mix to get him back in the fold. Robertson has already taken official visits to California and Notre Dame.
According to 247Sports’ Hank South, Robertson has plans of taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa in January. With Kirby Smart taking over in Athens, the Bulldogs are looking to keep Robertson in-state when he makes his final decision.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Robertson is a smooth athlete who has played both corner and receiver effectively at the prep level. He seems to be a little more natural at receiver, where his abilities as a route-runner separate him from a lot of other pass-catching prospects.
When I saw him at the Nike Orlando Opening Regional, he impressed me with his ability to consistently get off the line of scrimmage when corners tried to jam him. He’s versatile enough to work on the outside or in the slot and is elusive in the open field.

21. 5-star ATH Mecole Hardman
Height/Weight: 5’10”, 169 lbs
High School: Elbert County High School (Elberton, Georgia)
247Sports Ranking: No. 1 ATH, No. 21 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 93/100
Uncommitted: Considering Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Tennessee
Although he mainly played quarterback for his high school squad, 5-star athlete Mecole Hardman Jr. will likely play receiver or corner at the college level.
Hardman has already taken official visits to Miami and Michigan, and he’s taken several unofficials to Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
His decision is likely to come on national signing day.
Bleacher Report Analysis
I’ve spoken with Hardman many times, and he hasn’t ruled out playing both ways in college. He’s one of the rare athletes who has the skills and toughness to do so. I’ve seen him at multiple camps, and his competitiveness is evident whenever he touches the field.
I’ve long believed receiver is his best position, but he opened many people’s eyes with how dominant he looked at corner at The Opening. Assuming he does focus his attention on one position in college, he has the attitude and tools necessary to become a special player.

20. 5-star OT Jonah Williams
Height/Weight: 6'5", 296 lbs
High School: Folsom High School (Folsom, California)
247Sports Ranking: No. 3 offensive tackle; No. 20 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 97/100
Enrolled at Alabama
The top-rated offensive lineman in California headed to Tuscaloosa in January, nine months after his Crimson Tide commitment. Jonah Williams, the No. 1 prospect in another impressive Alabama class, chose a future in the SEC over nearby Pac-12 options such as Oregon and USC.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Williams may emerge as the heir apparent to top-rated 2014 offensive tackle Cam Robinson, who is likely to receive a high draft grade after his junior season. It would be the kind of transition college coaching staffs dream of, considering he firmly belongs in the mix as a possible No. 1 player at the position in this cycle.
His combination of quick footwork and overpowering physicality produced plenty of highlights throughout a dominant high school career. Williams may take out two defenders—at different levels of the field—faster than any prospect on this list.

16. 5-star LB Mique Juarez
Height/Weight: 6'1 ½", 231 lbs
High School: North High School (Torrance, California)
247Sports Ranking: No. 2 OLB, No. 16 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 94/100
Uncommitted: Considering Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UCLA and Washington
Early in the process, 5-star linebacker Mique Juarez was committed to in-state power USC.
However, he reopened his process in the fall with UCLA being the prime school linked to him after his decommitment, as detailed by Wiltfong.
According to Chad Carson of 247Sports, Juarez was named a 2015 USA Today first-team All-American linebacker.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Juarez is a freakish athlete who starred on both sides of the ball in high school. But his ball skills in pass coverage on defense are what make him one of the elite talents in the 2016 cycle. He covers like a bigger corner or even a safety, and he has a penchant for creating turnovers—whether it be interceptions or forcing fumbles.
He's physical enough to hold up against the run, and he has characteristics that make him ideal to play a hybrid role that meshes the responsibilities of linebackers and defensive backs. Overall, Juarez has the skill set to become a dominant defender in college.

13. 5-star LB Lyndell Wilson
Height/Weight: 6'2", 220 lbs
High School: Carver High School (Montgomery, Alabama)
247Sports Ranking: No. 1 OLB, No. 13 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 92/100
Uncommitted: Considering Alabama, Georgia and Florida
Since the beginning of his recruitment, most in the recruiting world figured 5-star linebacker Lyndell Wilson would stay in-state to play his college football.
Alabama is one of three finalists, along with Georgia and Florida.
However, with less than a month remaining until signing day, the Tide will have to make a strong push toward the finish line in order to keep Wilson from escaping the state to a conference rival.
Bleacher Report Analysis
I've seen Wilson multiple times on the camp circuit and in a live game. His lateral quickness jumps out immediately. He can try too hard at times to deliver the big blow, but he packs a punch when he unloads on ball-carriers. He has great instincts in finding the football, and he's athletic enough to be able to play man coverage against tight ends and backs out of the backfield.
Overall, Wilson has the skill set to develop into a big-time player if he continues to develop and work on his game's finer details.

12. 5-star LB Ben Davis
Height/Weight: 6'3", 240 lbs
High School: Gordo High School (Gordo, Alabama)
247Sports Ranking: No. 1 ILB, No. 12 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 93/100
Uncommitted: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Notre Dame
The state of Alabama has three players in the 2016 class who have garnered a 5-star ranking—with linebacker Ben Davis being the Yellowhammer State's top player.
Despite the fact his father was a former star player at Alabama, the younger Davis has done his best to keep an open mind with his recruiting process.
However, it would be a major upset if he landed anywhere other than Tuscaloosa on signing day.
Bleacher Report Analysis
From an athletic standpoint, Davis is everything you would want in a middle linebacker. He also played receiver in high school, which shows just how much of a freak he is at 6'3", 240 pounds. At linebacker, Davis is a disruptive force who can withstand the position's physical rigors and deliver blows in the run game.
He's one of the rare athletes who can also play on the outside in certain situations. He's an intriguing option as a blitzer, and he's also a pass-coverage asset because of his athleticism. Overall, Davis has an enormous amount of potential at the next level.

8. 5-star DT Derrick Brown
Height/Weight: 6'3 ¾", 317 lbs
High School: Lanier High School (Buford, Georgia)
247Sports Ranking: No. 3 DT; No. 8 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 96/100
Uncommitted: Considering Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi State
Dominant defensive tackles are major gets, and Derrick Brown will be a huge addition for the program of his choice. He showed his ability at both The Opening and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, winning his share of battles against some of the nation's top offensive linemen.
Brown, who has 26 reported offers, has January visits to Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee scheduled. Georgia is hoping to keep Brown in the state, but he has insisted that every school he's interested in has a legitimate shot.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Brown has a great nose for the football and seems to be around every play. He uses his strength and deceptive quickness to create chaos in the backfield for offenses, and he possesses a great first step in passing situations.
Brown is a thick-bodied athlete who, despite being nearly 6'4", plays with a low center of gravity. His balance makes him tough to game-plan for, and it makes him an attractive prospect to college coaches.

1. 5-star DT Rashan Gary
Height/Weight: 6'5", 293 lbs
High School: Paramus Catholic High School (Paramus, New Jersey)
247Sports Ranking: No. 1 DT; No. 1 overall
Bleacher Report Score: 99/100
Uncommitted: Considering Michigan, Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson and USC
What else can be said about Rashan Gary? The nation's No. 1 overall player has shown on multiple occasions that he sets the bar in the 2016 class with his play. He was the most dominant player at The Opening, and he was the most dominant player at the Under Armour All-America Game.
National signing day will be the day one lucky school lands a player expected to be all-conference material the moment he steps on campus. With 30 reported offers, Gary has schools like Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, Ole Miss and USC awaiting his every word between now and Feb. 3.
Bleacher Report Analysis
Gary is a football phenomenon, someone with a defensive tackle's power, a defensive end's quickness off the rush and a linebacker's speed. Few athletes his size can run the 40-yard dash in less than 4.8 seconds. His quickness and explosiveness off the ball make him a problem for offensive linemen.
Put all of Gary's characteristics to the table, and it's easy to see why he's the nation's top-ranked overall player. The expectations are very high for Gary, and his future looks bright.
