Most people assume the race will be between Bateman and Barnett, but Cornwell has the potential to win it as well.
And plenty of people have ruled Bateman out as well.

Coker has proven to be a solid QB with arm strength, power running, and some clutch plays. But if Bateman can't beat out Coker then I don't want to see him play an entire season. Barnett needs to start unless this Russian kid comes in and wows. Getting Barnett in this year with foster, Ridley, and Stewart will help him and give him confidence that will hopefully lead to him being who we thought he would be by mid season.

Haven't confirmed a committable offer from Bama, but from what I'm hearing it would be a surprise if he didn't pick Oregon.

Not surprising overall, but interesting that UO just accepted the commitment of a QB earlier today.

I would hate to see Cornwell pushed to the side without a real opportunity at the job.He was an extremely loyal prospect and fierce recruiter for us during his recruitment. He needs to be given a fair shot at the QB job.

personally, i dont want bama to lose a potential 1st rounder in bb, trying to appease bateman or cornwell. neither of the 2 could beat out sims or coker. so why waste a year scratching their backs while the future is now. got nothing against bateman or cornwell. been hollering for bateman in the redzone most of the year. but i'm truly sick of one n dones at qb. most teams strive for experience at qb. at bama, its been banned.

I think Bateman is done as QB for UA and Morris will be gone. I do believe Cornwell and Barnett will battle it out in the spring and think both have the skill set to be a great QB for UA. But the transfer is needed because he brings experience in and so I see the value. Plus I think whoever wins the battle between the two in the spring will get quality game time in the fall.

You're not serious. Right?

I thought I could just leave it at a funny gif, but I can't.
Let me start here.
I'll leave out the reference to Bateman, for now, and focus on Cornwell. So you don't want to "appease" Cornwell because he didn't win the starting QB job as a true Freshman, coming off an ACL tear I might add, over Blake Sims who had been in the system for 5 years? And you don't think he's good enough to be our starter next year because he didn't beat out Coker, who just guided us to the College Football Playoff by the way, as a redshirt Freshman?
Really? If that's truly the case, then why are you touting Blake Barnett as the savior? He couldn't beat out Coker either. Let me guess, it's because he was a true Freshman, right?
As for Bateman, he actually beat out Coker in practice. That's why he started the Ole Miss game. He was the more consistent QB IN PRACTICE. We all know now that Coker is a gamer and just wins, but we didn't know that going into our 3rd game and neither did our coaches. They put Bateman on the field first because he beat him out in practice.
If Bateman or Cornwell win the starting job in 2016 odds are neither will be leaving early even though they both would be eligible to. Therefore, this statement is probably without merit regarding these two.
There will be no "appeasing" anyone in regards to the position. The coaches will play who they think is the best player based on how they perform in practice. Only time will tell if that same individual will be the best player in the actual games.
ETA: What makes Blake Barnett a "potential 1st rounder?" His rating coming out of high school?

I haven't even watched Prukop's film due to work filters (no Youtube on the deployed environment work computers) but I've read other people's posts regarding them.
He appears to be pretty legit. I'd take another shot at a title with a one and done QB over a 9-3 season with a redshirt Freshman all day every day. I don't care how much pro "potential" he has.
Just win baby.

This.
Prukop's sophomore season he ran for 900 yards and 14 TDs. I think this could be a great situation going into next season. The offense looks set aside from QB and RB going into next year. With our runningbacks having no significant playing time and depth a little thin there, it would be a huge help to have a guy who can run the ball well, to help take pressure off our young runningbacks.

Nick's handling of the QB situation seems to have worked out somewhat well since he's been here. I'll trust his judgement. I would like someone who will be here to grab the bull by the horns. But I'm not a "stability for the sake of stability" guy.

Bailey Hockman decommitted from UGA. I still think we got the better QB in Fromm.

Dude is not coming here. He knows if he goes to Oregon he will be the starter from day one and the offense fits him perfectly. Coming here means that he would essentially have to battle for the position. Honestly, the only reason I want him here is to keep him away from Oregon. Bama doesn't need a good qb to win, but Oregon does. I just want to see Oregon suck again.

Interested to see which 2017 QB Jim Chaney offers 1st as #UGA OC. Assuming Hockman will be tough to get back. Fromm? Mills? Brice?
UGA you can't haz Fromm.
