Alabama QB commit Jalen Hurts went to work this past week. He threw for 226 yards and two TDs while rushing for 166 yards and three TDS in two quarters.

If you don't have a calculator, that's 392 total yards and five touchdowns in two quarters. One of those touchdowns was a 55-yard bomb Jalen threw with ease. Chennelview (TX) won as well, 84-14.

Watch the future Alabama QB and let us know what you think!

Free Bleacher Report Article on DeAngelo Gibbs

It's too long to copy and paste, but here are a few quotes:

quote:

“It was great. The atmosphere was pretty live,” Gibbs told Bleacher Report. “The fans were crazy. It was a great game overall watching both teams go up and down like that. It was really loud. The stadium was rocking.”

quote:

“[Alabama] had a lot of turnovers that really hurt them,” Gibbs said. “It’s tough to win like that, especially in a big game against a good team. From a DB standpoint, I thought they played pretty well. I thought Cyrus [Jones] played well. There wasn’t much he could do with that [Laquon] Treadwell [touchdown] catch. Overall, I thought the DBs played pretty good. Really, the defense overall did pretty good. I think it was just those turnovers that hurt them. That was my viewpoint of the game.”

quote:

Gibbs, who plays for a loaded prep squad at Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia, wasn’t alone on his visit. He made the trek to Tuscaloosa with a pair of prep teammates in 2016 4-star safety Nigel Warrior and 2017 4-star linebacker Breon Dixon—both of whom hold early offers from the Tide. “It’s a cool experience to get a chance to go to the game with them,” Gibbs said. “We may try to analyze things a little bit and just have fun. We got to talk with some of the players before and after the game. We talked a little bit about comparing ourselves to the guys that are playing our same position for them. We even made comparisons to the defense we run in high school. Just that whole experience, and sharing it with them, that’s pretty cool.”

TS may not want to post these articles that may shed some positive outlook on the game. It may disrupt the downward spiral many of our posters are going down.

I said it yesterday and I'll say it again here. Ryan Kelly is terrible. He was terrible in 2013 when he got the job over Chad Lindsay (who was a beast in the run game for us) and it cost us against Auburn. Why they continue to play him is baffling to me.

Exactly.

Dude was terrible and people are still trying to find ways to defend him. He's never been one to fill me with confidence.

Didn't Kelly miss the Auburn game in 13 and Lindsay played the entire game?

Ship has definitely sailed with Salomon:

quote:

Salomon, the 35th-ranked wide receiver and 197th-ranked player overall in the 2016 Scout 300, has a quartet of official visits in mind going forward.

"(I plan on taking official visits to) Miami, NC State, Louisville and South Florida," Salomon said. "I should make my decision at the end of the year."

It's simply going to come down to a gut feeling when Salomon has to shut things down and separate one school from the rest of the pack.

"I'm just going to have that feeling in that school (when I commit)," Salomon said.
Stay tuned to Scout for more on Salomon's recruitment.

Simmons article:

quote:

Despite the loss he was very impressed with the Alabama's game day atmosphere.

"The atmosphere stood out to me the most about my trip. When I first walked into the stadium it was so loud. That's what caught my attention about Alabama."

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman tried to not root for either team during the game but the Mississippi roots came out in him from time to time.

"I didn't go there to root for either team. I did predict Ole Miss to win but I was Alabama's guest. I tried to keep it classy, but when Ole Miss was making plays I did get excited. I had to remind myself that I'm in Alabama, and I'm their guest, and to not cheer out loud. I wanted to be respectful."

I don't know why anyone thinks we have a good shot at landing him. LINK

Admitting he learned some things that will potentially help UA hold onto his well-contested commitment, Akers’ family did the same while in town.

“They love Alabama a lot and the way they treat me, it’s a big part of my commitment,” he said. “I’m solid with ‘Bama, it just gave me something to look at when I go to other schools and if they treat me better. I’m still Roll Tide, though.”

As has seemingly been the case with many prospects Scout has been in contact with since the final tally, the Crimson Tide’s loss has no bearing on his outlook and interest in the program.
In fact the Pleasant Grove (Ala.) sophomore, who added a UA offer this summer, admits the experience helped with Nick Saban’s lead for his signature on a letter of intent.
“No doubt,” Mason said. “Another thing that elevates them is that they not only focus on football itself, but life after football. They stress your education and future more than anything. They also have a numerous amount of opportunities to make sure you stay on top of your lesson and also stay out of trouble.”

I wish Myles Mason would have committed over the weekend. It would have at least given us something positive from the weekend. LINK

No. He missed the 3-4 games prior to the Iron Bowl and came back for that game.
