We got a CB for Jay Jones from the Miss St. 247 recruiting writer.

LB Jeffrey Simmons says Alabama has been recruiting him the hardest. He's a Mississippi kid. I'm confident that will end well for us.

It's amazing how things have changed in recruiting Mississippi. Alabama used to always land 2-3 kids in every class from across that state. Especially in south Mississppi. It's far and few between these days.

Ryan Bartow CB'd Jawon Pass to Bama.

Interesting. I've just assumed he was heading to Louisville.

Bartow stated that Bama and North Carolina are tied at the top 50/50 and that Louisville is out according to sources.

Miami already has 18 commits for 2016 and 4 for 2017. That's crazy

Freeze and Mullen are both decent coaches at average programs, but they've pushed each other. Both programs have went all out in the marketing department. They're both selling the "play for your state" angle and all of these kids have two legitimate options now. It's a little different than Louisana where if a kid wants to blaze his own trail he leaves the state. Big time prospects there only have one instate option.
When we were pulling kids out of MS, both the state schools sucked. We weren't much better some years but it was still easier for the kids to leave. Alabama is the same way. It's rare nowadays that a big time prospect leaves the state. There are exceptions but they're few and far between. When a kid has two legitimate options in a small state they're probably going to pick one of them.

Went to the Louisville247 recruiting board (their board is divided into eleven boards, including one for Women's basketball
) to see how they were taking the news of Jawon Passing on them. They think it's just a smoke screen, and some were saying that their staff was feeling confident about landing him just a few weeks ago.

It was starting prior to either of those coaches too.

WR @youngpie_1 is visiting #FSU this weekend RT @TimBrewster: Pie for desert is a beautiful thing! #NoleNation!!
Those tweets from coaches are always so cheesy IMO. #fam15 #yessir #WeAre #tryingtoohard
Anyway, some on the Nole board are guessing Keyshawn "Pie" Young might be their next commit. It would be strange because he named us his leader a couple of weeks ago.. He's visiting there this week. Nee and Wiltfong put their CB in for him to FSU.

JC CBd Pass to UNC based on recent intel he received. This is per the UNC247 board.

Went on Jawon Pass's twitter to see where he might be leaning. He put on twitter that he wanted to play with Isham Alexander, a Carver kid who has no offers. Isham put "What about UNC" on his twitter Saturday.
All that to say, I'm thinking that UNC might be willing to offer the no name kid in order to secure Jawon Pass's signature. Jawon Pass's teammate Javontay Smith is also committed to UNC.
