I meant to post this the other day. Emmons on Friday night struggled a little as his team(not very good) lost 40-28 to one of the reigning state champs. They were putting 9 in the box to stop him. He is the team.

Rushed for 89 yards on 24 carries but still had two rushing TDs. Also lined up in the wildcat for direct snaps. 99% of all offensive plays it seemed went to him and the other team was prepared for it.

He also had a pick 6 on defense for 100+ yards and is the kickoff and punt returner.

His best stat of the night may be his 2 kickoffs that were touchbacks. Yes he kicks for Freedom HS as well. Again he is the team. I think the only other reason the other players are on the field is because they require 11 to play.

Goodness. Rivals hates our class so far. They have just about all of our guys rated lower than most of the other sites, and most much lower than my eyes tell me (in as close to an unbiased way as is possible) they should be ranked. The rankings are a mystery on more and more guys every time the services put something out it seems like.

Garcia supposedly watched his game in person and came away feeling that Emmons was the best RB in this class.

I wouldn't worry about it. Once we land Davis and Wilson we will have two of their top 9.

I was at the game as well. A lot of people in the area(NC) compare him to Gurley in HS. He plays with a lot of heart. It does not look like it is about him but about his team winning when he plays if that makes sense. And he does not care where he plays on the field as long as it can help his team.

I agree with Garcia based on the fact I think he will see the field as a freshman. A lot of RB come out of HS with all the potential but need to hit the weight room and learn the play book. This kid just needs to play book, because physically he is ready to go.

Not worried about it. I seem to be higher on our class than most of you are. I'm just sort of baffled. I'm also baffled on how Devin White dropped even more with them. He had a pretty good camp period, and is an elite athlete. Looks like a potentially big-time huge back to me. Even if some might argue he wouldn't be an every down back, that's fine. He still is too good of an athlete to be ranked that low.

Keith Gavin decommitted from FSU. Keep an eye on him, as Tosh has been all over him and Janarius Robinson for months now. Depending on which WRs the staff decides to take, we'd have an excellent shot here. I really like Gavin. He was originally very underrated. I know our staff has liked him a good bit. Very impressive on film. His upside seems to be sky-high.

I believe AJ Brown is the #1 WR on our board right now, even possibly ahead of Demetris Robertson. I believe Gavin, Cavin Ridley, and a few others are right behind.

The reason we have pursued him so doggedly is because of his measureables. 6-3 or 6-4 ,220 and he ran a 4.35/40 at his spring game per his coaches. Some sites say he runs a 4.6. I tend to believe its lower than that. Big receiver we need so badly.

We've gotten 7 CBs for Keith Gavin since he decommitted, including one from Hank South.

So I'm watching Jeffery Simmons' highlights again and noticed the first thing they mention is that he has a 3.9 GPA. I like having those smart guys on the D-Line because they usually don't make stupid arse mistakes like unnecessary roughness penalties.

Oh yeah, it also stated that he had 15.5 sacks last season as a Junior. He had 5 in first game as a Senior against one of the best teams in the state of Mississippi.

Here are Simmons' highlights in case some of you are too lazy to go look for him on the first page:
