It has been talked about for a while but I can now confirm that a large contingent from New Jersey and Pennsylvania will visit Auburn, Alabama and Ole Miss between July 12-16.

Likely visitors include 5-star Rashan Gary, Rivals100 WR Ahmir Mitchell, Rivals100 TE Naseir Upshur, Rivals250 DE Ron Johnson, 2017 4-star OL Cesar Ruiz and 2017 3-star DL Corey Bolds. Expect this list to change multiple times between now and then.

That's on rivals.

Mich just got a commit from an OT. Interesting how UM fans have been talking about "two silent 4* commits" and 30min after Kareem picks Bama this other dude verbals

But that's none of my business :)

After a weekend of standout performances and a surprising champion, it's time to look back at the IMG 7-on-7 national championships and hand out some honors to prospects that impressed the most.

Physical specimen

RB Elijah Holyfield | College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy

Holyfield is known for his ability as a smashmouth running back, but he showed during his team's run to the championship game that he can do more than just lower his head and hit the hole. Holyfield made catch after catch, all while looking bigger and stronger than ever. Holyfield's newfound versatility only helps his stock as a potential every-down back at the next level.

Smooth operator

ATH Demetris Robertson | Savannah (Ga.) Christian

Because Robertson doesn't do as much talking as some, his big performances can slide under the radar at times. But when his team needed a big play down the field, Robertson was the man to provide it. He had several impressive touchdown catches and even came on to haul in a game-sealing interception while playing defensive back.

Tough guy

LB Ben Davis | Gordo, Ala.

Davis probably could have taken home awards in several different categories -- including Physical Specimen -- but he earns the toughness award for his impressive play in the middle of the field. Even in light contact situation, it's tough to run routes over the middle with the 6-foot-3, 236-pound Davis waiting to make a play. His physicality may have been muted, but the five-star linebacker looked the part during the weekend.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Talent from all across the country took the field at IMG Academy for the first day of the annual IMG 7-on-7 national championship on Saturday. With more than 40 teams from all across the country in attendance at the event, there were plenty of outstanding performances on both sides of the ball. Here's a breakdown of the day's top defensive performances.

quote:

1 CB
Chauncey Gardner
Cocoa, Fla.

Recruiting wrap: Gardner is committed to Florida but open to taking other visits.

Performance: Gardner had two interceptions and was his normal, active self. Gardner has an incredibly thick build (5-11, 190) that includes no bad weight. He also breaks incredibly well on the ball. His size and speed make him a versatile defensive back capable of playing corner or safety when need be. Gardner was as consistent a prospect as there was at the event.

3 DB
Malcolm Askew (2017)
McCalla (Ala.) McAdory

Recruiting wrap: Askew nearly committed to Georgia recently. The Bulldogs lead, but Alabama and others are still in play.

Performance: Askew played both ways, but looked better on defense than he did offense. He covers well and is incredibly smooth in his backpedal. He covered a number of bigger wide receivers and showed some surprising physicality for a prospect that could stand to add some size to his 5-10, 176-pound frame.

4 LB
Ben Davis
Gordo, Ala.

Recruiting wrap: Davis recently visited Florida and will tour Georgia in mid-July. He is planning a Signing Day decision.

Performance: Playing his natural position of linebacker, Davis looked smooth in coverage. He is an absolute physical freak that boasts a college-ready body. He also moved incredibly well laterally. Davis made a few plays while playing wide receiver and caught at least one touchdown. Playing both ways allowed Davis to highlight the exceptional athleticism he retains for a prospect who is 6-4, 236.

5 LB
Will Ignont (2017)
New Market (Ala.) Buckhorn

Recruiting wrap: Ignont says he will visit Texas A&M in the near future. He also plans to visit Georgia on July 18. Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Florida are the frontrunners to land his commitment.

Performance: Ignont looks wonderful in a uniform and boasts a college-ready body at 6-1, 241. His long arms allow him to cover extra ground. And while he isn't the quickest linebacker on the planet, he moves well laterally and can cover most players he'll line up against on Friday nights. Ignont shines brightest in actual football games, but was impressive in 7-on-7 work.

14 DB
Richard LeCounte (2017)
Hinesville (Ga.) Liberty County

Recruiting Wrap: Ohio State and Georgia are among the schools battling for LeCounte.

Performance: LeCounte plays a centerfield role for his Pro Impact team, a similar role to the one he plays on Friday nights for his high school squad. The spot fits LeCounte perfectly as he can read and react to make plays all over the field. He made several deflections and nearly came away with multiple interceptions.

Day 2 of the IMG 7x7:

quote:

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Talent from all across the country took the field at IMG Academy for the second day of the annual IMG 7-on-7 national championship on Sunday. With more than 40 teams from all across the country in attendance at the event, there were plenty of outstanding performances on both sides of the ball. Here's a breakdown of the day's top defensive performances.

quote:

1 DB
Chauncey Gardner
Cocoa, Fla.

Recruiting wrap: Gardner is committed to Florida.

Performance: Gardner is as physical a corner as there is in America. He's no slouch in coverage, either. He routinely jammed any number of receivers on Sunday and showed himself capable of taking away his side of the field. He had his lapses, sure, but they were brief. Gardner was impressive on both days of the event.

7 DB
LeAnthony Williams (2017)
Roswell, Ga.

Recruiting wrap: Williams is early on in his recruitment, but already boasts offers from Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and several other schools.

Performance: Williams continued his terrific month of June, helping lead his team to the championship game, just as he did at the Five-Star Challenge in Baltimore two weekends prior. Williams has terrific fundamentals and the technique of a much older player. With some more physical development still to come, he looks like a future national star at his position.

11 ATH
Shyheim Carter
Kentwood, La.

Recruiting wrap: Carter is committed to Alabama.

Performance: Carter can play both ways but his focus was on defense for the Bootleggers team on Sunday and he was impressive in coverage. Even though the ball didn't come his way very often, his technique as a defensive back was impressive. Knowing Nick Saban's proclivity for turning impressive athletes into excellent defensive backs, it wouldn't be surprising to see Carter blossom as a full-time defensive back in college.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Talent from all across the country took the field at IMG Academy for the final day of the annual IMG 7-on-7 National Championship on Sunday. Ultimately, Indiana-based team AWP came away with the crown, beating out Cam Newton's team from the Atlanta area for the national title. With more than 40 teams from all across the country in attendance at the event, there were plenty of outstanding performances. Here's a breakdown of the day's best on the offensive side of the ball.

quote:

5 WR
Cavin Ridley
Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Recruiting wrap: Ridley is thought to be leaning toward committing to Florida but Alabama and others remain involved to some extent.

Performance: Ridley has been in the weight room. The four-star wide receiver looked stronger than ever this weekend and was a bright spot for his team, which suffered some costly injuries. Ridley can get up to top speed in a hurry and has incredibly solid hands. He's as well-rounded as a receiver of his size (6-1, 190) can be.

It is cut day for several college programs as Rivals250 cornerback Jared Mayden of Sachse (Texas) announced his top seven.

The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back has received scholarship offers from across the country over the last few years, and he has researched each and every option. He has taken visits, he has talked with coaches, he has watched film, and he has gotten to know his college options inside and out.

Twitter was his platform of choice, and with the click of a button he released his list of UCLA, Michigan, Oregon, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, and Alabama to the world.
