I guess I'm going to have to come up with some other nickname for the thread. I thought Miller Forrestal was a 3-star but he has a 4th one on Scout (he's actually ranked higher than Jalen Hurts) so that is what goes on the commitment list in the OP. That only leaves us with Perry, Cole and Pineiro as 3-stars. Practically everyone is saying Cole will get a bump so that leaves 2.
Any suggestions?

Hank South on the RB situation:
He's talking about Kareem Walker in the first sentence.
quote:
Not sure about him opening it back up. But Alabama is very high on him, and visited him over the spring. Walker and Miles Sanders from Penn St. will be two RB flip candidates to watch.

Some "insider" on BOL is saying our RB board is as follows:
1. Devin White
2. Miles Sanders
3. Elijah Holyfield
4. BJ Emmons
5. Kareem Walker
I would take this with an enormous grain of salt.

Another "insider" on BOL is saying Notre Dame leads for Elijah Holyfield.

I saw that. Wouldnt mind him going there

The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour has come to a close, but there is still plenty to discuss. Four of the nation's top running backs competed, and the top performer was 2017 standout Khalan Laborn. Here's a complete look at the position and how things stacked up in Baltimore.

Miles Sanders
Pittsburgh (Penn.) Woodland Hills
Sanders, a Penn State commit, has a thick build and a nice burst. He wasn't dominant in one-on-ones and even dropped a pass or two. He did manage to win a few reps and make a handful of plays in the 7-on-7 portion of the event. Sanders was neither a standout nor a calamity.

Camps aren't exactly Walker's scene. He didn't make many waves in Baltimore but looked solid enough in a uniform and showcased some solid quickness for his size. Walker is most comfortable and effective carrying the ball out of the backfield and using his power. On Saturday, he spent the day running routes and catching passes, which didn't do much to highlight his skill set.
So camps aren't his "scene" which will probably allow them to keep him ranked so high, yet they are going to drop others because they didn't live up to their 5-star status at the camp a la Darnell Salomon?

It was a busy weekend in Tuscaloosa with the University of Alabama hosting several prospects which included participants the OL/DL camp and team 7-on-7 tournament. Clay-Chalkville High School is a powerhouse in the state led at quarterback by Mr. Football runner-up, Ty Pigrome.
Pigrome also has a pair of elite targets on the outside including Alabama commitment T.J. Simmons, a four-star wide receiver. Nico Collins, a 2017 Rivals100 wide receiver, is also on this team. The trio helped the Cougars win Alabama 7-on-7 tournament on Saturday.
"We went undefeated," said Simmons. "We won all eight games. I felt like I had a good day out there. I probably had two touchdowns in each game. It felt good being out there competing with the team. It was nice to play inside the stadium in the finals and semi-finals."
"I thought the camp went really good," said Collins. "It was nice to go undefeated. We won the championship. It was a long and hot day, but we still played good. I felt like I did pretty good out there."

CB Nigel Knott says he will take officials to Alabama, Florida State and Oregon.
Here's a blurb from his camp performance in Tallahassee:
Here's a blurb from his camp performance in Tallahassee:

Nigel Knott's showing at Florida State's camp was, in a word, dominant. The four-star defensive back won every one-on-one rep he took and showed off a level of athleticism that was unmatched by other campers.

The 2015 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour has come to a close, so it is now time to turn attention to those who could receive invitation to the 2016 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour.
Attending a regional Rivals Camp is a requirement for inclusion, but the following prospects have already stated a strong case for Five-Star Challenge consideration.
quote:
S DeAngelo Gibbs
Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge
Gibbs is a no-brainer for an invitation if he is healthy and attends a regional camp. He has attended several Rivals camps over the years and he is a two-time Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge attendee. He made big waves with his play in 2014 and he was a standout again in 2015. He is a five-star prospect and he has shown he is more than capable of shining on the big stage at the Five-Star Challenge.

CB Richard LeCounte
Riceboro (Ga.) Liberty County
There are not many who have had the opportunity to attend three Five-Star Challenge events, but LeCounte has a chance to make it happen. He attended the 2014 Five-Star Challenge after a strong performance at the 2014 Atlanta Rivals Camp. He was able to return to Baltimore in 2015 and again he had a solid performance.

Granted, I believe Walker has been overrated from the start, but to be far, 1-on-1s and 7-on-7s are really hard to stand out in as a RB. Where as at WR, you're on full display.

ILB Nate McBride
Vidalia (Ga.)
McBride made a strong case for his 2015 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge invitation with a standout performance at the Atlanta Rivals Camp, where was one of the top underclassmen performers in his first major camp. He showed the performance in Atlanta was no fluke while in Baltimore. McBride was among the top defenders at the 2015 Five-Star Challenge and he has put himself high on the list of linebacker candidates for the 2016 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.

OLB Dylan Moses
Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab
Moses attended the 2014 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge as a running back and he attended Rivals Camps in New Orleans and Hattiesburg in 2014 and Atlanta in 2015. He is a veteran of the Rivals Camp Series and he has been a standout as the running back MVP at both New Orleans and Atlanta. He was invited to the 2015 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge before an injury forced him to pull out at the last minute. He is a five-star prospect at linebacker, and a strong candidate to be the nation's top overall prospect.

DT Marvin Wilson
Houston (Tex.) Episcopal
Wilson attended his first Rivals Camp in Dallas in March and he quickly caught attention thanks in large part to his tireless effort. He received his invitation to the Five-Star Challenge shortly after his strong performance, and he put together one of the most dominating performances of a strong defensive line group. Wilson is currently a four-star prospect, but he made a strong case for five-star status, and he established himself as a strong candidate for the 2016 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.

2017 RB Cam Akers quote from his visit this weekend:
quote:
"They told me they want me there bad. They said I am one of the top priorities as a running back for them. They told me if I was in the 2016 class I would be a top priority for them now."

MACOMB, Mich. -- The bulk of the on-field action at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp took place on Friday. Here is our look at the top defensive performers from the event.

Xavier Kelly
Wichita (Kan.) East
Recruiting Wrap: Kelly just finished visits to Michigan State and Notre Dame and will travel to Michigan next. He has an extensive offer list and no favorites.
Performance: There was some good things and some things to work on from Kelly coming out of last week's Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. At Sound Mind Sound Body the four-star's talent and physical presence was just too much for most offensive linemen. He still likes to go to the inside move too often, but against the prospects in attendance he was able to execute consistently.
