Based on what some mods are saying, don't be surprised if he goes the route of TD Moton. Just sayin... We'll see. If he signs with us, I sure hope he turns into a monster! Goodness knows I don't wish him ill will. I just call it like I see it. I've been MUCH higher on our class thus far than most of you. Yulee... I've not been too high on. Nonster against the inside run. Anywhere outside that box, though, I have lots of questions.

From an "insider" on BOL regarding Yulee committing today:

quote:

Not Hank but yes. And that could still be the case. The staff was blindsided. They had no clue he was gonna pick Bama. His offer wasn't committable "YET". But only because they wanted him to camp first. I'm sure they'll honor the kid though because when you put on the film with pads he is elite.

I don't care about the camps and combines and all that crap. If you can play you can play.

Bama still needs big inside linebackers for the likes of Arkansas and LSU.

TIGERS, TIDE ON TOP FOR MARSHALL
John Garcia Jr.John Garcia Jr.
Recruiting Analyst

Georgia defensive lineman David Marshall backed off of his Auburn commitment last week and also spent considerable time on Alabama's campus, but the pecking order for his services has not changed.

After being committed to Auburn for nearly three months, three-star Thomaston (Ga.) Upson-Lee standout David Marshall backed off of the pledge, citing family reasons.
Since, he's been to Alabama and has been in contact with Clemson and Ole Miss while AU remains in pursuit of his signature. Each of the programs still in play have offered the versatile defensive lineman a verbal scholarship.

"My recruiting is going well after I decommitted from Auburn," he said. "A lot of schools are contacting me after I had did that Tuesday."

Marshall spent several days in Tuscaloosa for Alabama's initial prospect camp of the season during the time of the decommitment.

"They have been amazing," he said. "Hanging with my bro Reuben (Foster) and the coaches like Kirby (Smart), (Bo) Davis, (Nick) Saban. Like it felt good to be back to visit them.

"They said that they need me because they didn't get that many D-line in the class of 2015. That I would be a big difference on the line. That's means a lot, that they need me to play for them."

Being courted as a defensive end by Alabama, Marshall participated during a portion of the camp in addition to spending time with players and coaches.

"It went great, Nick Saban likes my pass-rush," he said. "How they work out stood out. It's so live, (more) than the other schools I have visited.

"They work out by themselves sometimes. The coaches work them hard. I love the loud music they play when they work out, too."

Despite the lengthy visit, the Crimson Tide is still trailing the Tigers for Marshall's services at this time.

"They're still at two," he said. "Auburn is showing a lot of love to my family. It's a great school to go to.

"I'm going to Auburn for the (upcoming) weekend."

Anticipating a January or February final decision, Marshall has no additional scheduled visits going forward.

Tennessee commit TaDarryl Marshall planning official visit to Alabama

TaDarryl Marshall talks recruiting

TaDarryl Marshall committed to Tennessee over Alabama and Auburn back in April, but his recruitment is ongoing.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder chose to play multiple positions for the Volunteers over offers to play cornerback at Auburn and quarterback at Alabama. He said he still hears from the Crimson Tide, but the Tigers have backed off since his commitment.

"It's been going pretty good," the Leeds athlete told AL.com last week at the Cam Newton Foundation 7-on-7 tournament in Birmingham. "I still get a couple calls from a couple coaches. That's why I'm going to some camps, just to work on my craft at receiver and see what the other colleges are talking to me about."

The three-star prospect has yet to visit Knoxville since his commitment to the Volunteers, but is looking forward to doing so June 18-20. He recently attended camps held by Arkansas State, Alabama and Mississippi State.

Marshall plans to return to Tuscaloosa for an official visit this fall.

"I'm planning on taking all five (official visits), just to get out of Alabama and explore," he said. "I know for sure I'll be taking one to Alabama and one to Tennessee. The other ones I don't know.

"(Alabama's) pulling a little bit."

Marshall rushed for 1,376 yards and passed for 1,252 more as a junior last fall, guiding Leeds to an AHSAA Class 4A state championship win.

"Everybody, especially the seniors, wants to come out and win another one," he said. "The young people are doing a real good job contributing, coming to practices, showing up on time. Them wanting to get better by themselves is great."

Marshall is ranked as the nation's No. 33 athlete in the 247Sports Composite. Check out his interview with AL.com above and his highlights below.

Man I didnt know Robbie Green trains the players from time to time. That's crazy. People always hate on Saban but he could've just forgot all about that kid once he got kicked off the team.

Virginia linebacker Jaquan Yulee commits to Alabama
Print Email Drew Champlin | dchamplin@al.com By Drew Champlin

Alabama picked up a big out-of-state commitment on Monday night when Chesapeake, Va., linebacker Jaquan Yulee announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide at his high school.

The 6-foot, 252-pound Yulee is a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 126 overall player, No. 6 inside linebacker and No. 4 prospect in the state of Virginia.

He visited Alabama this spring. He picked Alabama over North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Michigan State.

"When it comes to Alabama, they're just unbelievable," Yulee told Scout.com at his announcement. "They have a lot of talent and I just love the football program."

Yulee is Alabama's 12th verbal commitment of the 2016 class and third since Friday, joining junior college offensive tackle Charles Baldwin and Texas quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Yulee becomes the first linebacker to join Alabama's 2016 recruiting class. Alabama is also pursuing his teammate, four-star athlete Devon Hunter from the 2017 class.

Which SEC school will be next to offer Baldwin County tackle Jakori Savage?
jakori.JPG
Baldwin County's Jakori Savage has offers from South Carolina and Kentucky already. Could LSU be next? (Mike Kittrell | mkittrell@al.com)
Print Email Ben Thomas | bthomas@al.com By Ben Thomas | bthomas@al.com

Baldwin County tackle Jakori Savage already has Southeastern Conference offers from South Carolina and Kentucky to go with a host of other invitations.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound rising senior could add to that list in the next few weeks.

Savage camped at Alabama last week, Auburn on Sunday and will head to LSU on Tuesday. He also will go to South Carolina and Kentucky later this week.

"I've told every college coach that comes through here that if Jakori ends up in the right spot, he will be a draft pick in five years," Baldwin County coach Nathan McDaniel said. "He is probably a five-year player in college. Before he plays in the SEC, he needs to put on a little weight. A lot of colleges want to see him at 315 or 320.

"So I would guess he would redshirt that first year in order to get bigger. He has everything it takes to be a great player."

McDaniel said Savage has approximately 14 offers so far. They include Troy, Louisiana Tech, Tulane and Southern Mississippi.

He benches 315 pounds and squats more than 500.

"He is extremely athletic for a big guy," McDaniel said. "That is what everyone loves about him. A lot of kids are big but haven't really grown into their bodies. Jakori has been starting in basketball since the eighth grade.

"He can do some things a lot of big guys have trouble doing. He's got long arms and, to be as long as he is, he is really strong. He is really smart. He gets the game and he loves the game, and he works really hard."

McDaniel also said Savage has a 3.37 core GPA, which should be attractive to many colleges.

Savage isn't the only Tiger receiving attention this summer.

Athlete Dwayne Koen has offers from Louisiana Tech and Alabama A&M. He likely will be a slot receiver and returning in college.

Running back R.J. Stevens, linebacker/quarterback Juwan Judge and defensive lineman Chris Faulkner are scheduled to attend a camp at Mississippi College on Tuesday.

4-STAR LB YULEE ANNOUNCES COMMITMENT TO BAMA
Michael Clark
Regional Recruiting Analyst
Jaquan Yulee announced his commitment to Alabama on Monday.

Jaquan Yulee announced that he committed to Alabama just moments ago.

”It was a really tough decision,” said the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Yulee. “All the schools were really behind me through the whole process. In the end, academics and where I felt at home were the main factors.

”It feels great to have my decision made. It feels like a lot of stress has been lifted off my back.”

Yulee knew Alabama was the place for him.

”When it comes to Alabama, they’re just unbelievable,” he said. “They have a lot of talent and I just love the football program.”

Analysis: Yulee is the prototypical inside linebacker. He has a great combination of size, speed and strength. He has great instincts and reads and reacts to plays very quickly. He plays sideline to sideline and is a very physical. Overall, he is one of the best linebacker prospects I have seen. -- Michael Clark

His relationship with the coaching staff played an important part in his decision.
"The coach I’m in contact with the most is (outside linebackers) coach (Tosh) Lupoi,” Yulee said. “My relationship with him was one of the keys. He’s just really cool and he just knows how to recruit really well.”

The Indian River standout is excited to play for head coach Nick Saban.
”It’s an honor to have a chance to play for him,” Yulee said. “When I was down there visiting, he was cool and calm, but I know he’s also very intense at the same time, and I really like that about him.”

Yulee is happy with his decision.

”My commitment is solid – I’m firmly committed,” he said. “But I’m going to take visits.”

'BAMA KICKER REED HAS TOP 3, DECISION ON DECK
John Garcia Jr.John Garcia Jr.
Recruiting Analyst

The college camp circuit is in full swing for America's top prospects and many are finding a home as a result. Alabama standout kicker AJ Reed is near a commitment as well.

Showcasing his leg at several college camps of late, recruiting for Prattville (Ala.) kicker A.J. Reed is near its apex. South Florida came in with an early offer and he earned another on Monday after participating in camp at Duke.

"I got an offer from USF a couple months ago and now Duke's," he said. "A lot of schools are interested. The ones showing the most (love) are Mississippi State, Alabama, Duke, Clemson and Florida."

In addition to camp in Durham, Reed was able to see the facilities and meet with coaches, where he learned of the good news.

"I've liked Duke for a long time now." he said. "I went there today for a camp so that I could kick in front of them. Coach (Dvid) Cutcliffe and Coach (Zac) Roper were very impressed so I went up to coaches office where we talked for a little and then he offered me a full scholarship. They want me to Come here and be the starter for 4 years.

"It was great feeling and I really like Duke; the coaches, campus, academics and football have everything I'm looking for. I could really see myself playing college football for Duke University."

The Blue Devils will have to edge SEC West rivals Alabama and Mississippi State for Reed's commitment, which could come very soon.

"Duke, Alabama and Mississippi State are my top three," he said. "I have to sit down with my family and make a decision. It could come by the end of the week, I'm just ready to commit and focus on my season coming up."

Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs will host Reed for camp on Thursday. Nick Saban and Alabama did so over the weekend.

"They told me I was a top guy and they're still deciding on who they're going to offer," he said. "Bobby Williams and Brendan Farrell spoke to me, the special teams coaches."

Reed, who reports a 4.0 GPA and 32 ACT score, is ranked as the No. 5 kicker in America on Kohl's Kicking. Video available below.
