What did Vigor's coach have to do with TJ?

Why would Cece and Cowart go to AU? They landed supposedly one of the best DL hauls ever 3 years back, and none have them have developed. Adams and Fairly have both been weak. Lawson is the only one with an injury excuse. It looks like the Muschamp and Thompson hires are paying dividends

Muschamp needs a stout DL and a ridiculously talented DB group to get production from his D. He always recruits DL and develops them we'll, another projected to be a top 10 draft pick this yr (Dante Fowler Jr)

The final composite rankings came out. At #12 in the top247 composite, Blake Barnett is the #1 qb in the class.

Good for him. Hope he gets a solid number of snaps at A-Day.

How Cotton comes in as the third rated guard is beyond me. Haven't seen a better guard prospect in the last few classes, and he's athletic enough to play tackle.

They reclassified Edoga as a guard, which pushed Cotton back. Maea Teuhema, committed to LSU, is the other guard in front of him.

I still think he will probably have the biggest impact of the three, but what do I know? I just sit at home following recruiting.

ETA: Rankings are a lot of what have you done for me lately. Unfortunately Cotton had a concussion during the UAAA game, so he wasn't able to beast out like we expected.

Byron Cowart @ByronHawkStar99
My top schools are great for journalism/ broadcasting UF, AUBURN, FSU ,ALABAMA so when it comes down to it i will get my degree in 3years

Strange that he mentions us. He is going to try to visit next weekend, which would cancel his UF OV. I assume Cece would tag along

I'm not getting my hopes up.

I think Cowart sees himself as a Fowler type player. He wants to play a "hybrid" spot and he's built for it. Unfortunately he probably barely remembers Courtney Upshaw at Alabama. I think in the end he winds up at Florida, but auburn will come in a close second due to Muschamp pitching that role. We're just a hat on the table.

“It was cool meeting Coach Williams,” Cowart said. “I mean he’s like my defensive line coach at Armwood now but I sign in three weeks so it’s a little late to try and get to know those guys.”
Cowart:
“His message was could I see myself playing for him at Florida,” Cowart said. “I don’t know if I could or not. I mean I know he coached in the NFL and that’s a good thing but I don’t know him really. I told him it wasn’t his fault that he was getting in so late but [Will] Muschamp, [Nick] Saban and Coach Tosh [Lopoi] have been recruiting me for years and I have a good relationship with those guys and Florida fired the guy I like, Coach Lawing, so yeah.”

But, I agree, HatOnTheTableU.

Byron Cowart either likes wearing Florida State colors or has plans on becoming a Seminole.

While wearing garnet shorts and with a Florida State lanyard hanging from his neck, Cowart said he already knows which college he wants to attend to play football during a video interview with ESPN recruiting reporter Derek Tyson.

Whether Florida State is that school for Cowart, a strong-side defensive end who was re-ranked as the No. 1 player in the country by ESPN on Thursday, remains to be seen.

"Me and my mom discussed it, and we're good with our decision so we know where we're going to go," Cowart said.

Cowart has plans to announce his commitment between his final three schools on National Signing Day, Feb. 4, after taking official visits to Auburn this weekend, Florida on Jan. 23 and FSU on Jan. 30.

From a newspaper in Tally yesterday and says he already knows where he is going.

I was hoping UF could pull Cowart/CeCe/Ivey (if we couldn't somehow obviously) for Coach Mac. Hope Cowart doesn't go play for fricking Jimbo Fisher.

I was talking with a USC friend and he told me Spurrier was trying to get B Lawing back on their staff but that Saban has reached out to him. Again no link to it whatsoever but curious if anyone has heard this.

If would definitely help with Cowart and CeCe. Not to mention would be a great hire. Again no link just what I was told.

I think he went Juco, not prep school. So he'll be recruited next year, if we still needs guards.

Bama and UF have great journalism programs, but I don't know about AU or FSU. All of the UF journalists in sports are athletes who couldn't cut it professionally (Tebow, Palmer) or women (Andrews, Brown). All FSU broadcast journalists (Kannel) couldn't cut it either. I'm sure Cowart thinks he'll play in the NFL longer than those guys did.

As for Bama, I can think of Reece Davis and Brad Edwards just off the top of my head who have gone through Bama's journalism school and have big broadcasting careers without the benefit of sports (meaning the degree and their journalistic talent got them the job). That speaks to the quality of the education.

If it was really about his major, Bama would be in great shape. But it's only a factor and we'll just be a hat on the table.

It's not about the school man. It's the coach

As a Bama fan, I'm very aware. I just had a brain fart and forgot about Muschamp. I would've deleted it, but instead just made an edit.

That's what I get for smoking shatter hash, then posting at the dog park.

I got a warning for responding using the ROTFLMAO emoticon to this post on the LSURb last night:

quote:

Call me crazy, but with the recent developments, I'm more concerned about Auburn than Bama. The decline is real for Bama and Auburn (trying not to vomit as I say it) will be the top team in that state.

It's unbelievable how butthurt they get when an Alabama fan posts over there.
