I was reading the uga recruiting thread for any potential info on our recruits and you have a few posters arguing that Saban has underperformed and should have more titles given the classes he has brought in.

Oh the irony

Alabama hosted dozens of elites for the Iron Bowl last weekend, and one of the youngest was DeAngelo Gibbs. It was the early Scout five-star prospect's first trip to Tuscaloosa, and he couldn't isolate one part that stood out the most.

DeAngelo Gibbs isn't your routine high school sophomore football player. He's got a 6-foot-2, 191-pound frame, a tremendous list of early scholarship offers and a five-star next to his name on Scout.
One of the schools already on the offer list, Alabama, hosted him for its biggest game of the fall, the Iron Bowl. The game against Auburn was the 2017 talent's first trip to Tuscaloosa.

"It was amazing," he said. "The atmosphere was great and it's one of the loudest stadiums. The whole trip was the best part."
Projected to play offense by Scout, Gibbs is also a standout defensive back at Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge High School. It's on defense where he may end up at the next level.

"I talked to Coach (Nick) Saban, Coach (Kirby) Smart," he said. "They were like, 'glad to get you down here, hope you like it and we get a commitment.'

"They wanted one from me, I just smiled."

Naturally, his eye was on a Crimson Tide All-America candidate during the game.

"Landon (Collins) played well," Gibbs said. "He covered well, made tackles and I got a chance to say what's up."

The two-way standout admitted he was both surprised and impressed with his first in-person impression of one of college football's powers.

"Alabama is just different, there's something different about them," he said. "Everything surprised me, everything was top of the line. Roll damn tide!"

Without favorites early in the process, Gibbs plans on taking his time and continue to visit schools.

Hilarious.

You have to really reach to suggest that three national titles in seven years is "underachieving".

I'd love to add Jones, but I don't know where he could come in and play. He'll have three years to play 2, right?

We're loaded in the two deep. If Reed goes to the NFL (please no) then that helps a bit.

I hope Reed will stay but I think he's earned a good spot in the next draft. Hopefully we can find some guys to replace him between Frazier and Lake and Liner and maybe Payne. Has Kirven played at all this year?

I don't think Kirven has played much, and I don't really expect him to at this point. Maybe he can find a role though.

Next year's front 7 (with or without Reed, but especially with) is gonna be amazing, if they don't get complacent.

Yeah Robinson, Allen, Pettway, Tomlinson, and Hand are a real good nucleus but we will need another two or three guys to step up and become contributors.

I think Evans and Miller will be what makes our pass rush. They are two different types of OLB for Saban and both were great pass rushers in high school.

Having Evans Miller rushing at OLB and Tim Williams from DE, Allen Pettway at DT is jerk off worthy
