LOL, I noticed that after reading the original.

Committed to TAMU; picked off Ricky Town twice. I know, Bama recruiting thread, but just thought it was interesting because reading defenses is what Town is supposed to excel at.

Won't be committing no time soon. hmm... Double negative. Does that mean his commitment is imminent?

It should be noted that unlike most linemen, Lester Cotton was not in pads due to AHSAA rules and I'm sure that affected the reps he was able to get in 1on1's

Blake Barnett interview LINK

quote:

New Alabama commit Blake Barnett talks about the Elite 11 camp and his recent commitment to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. He also discusses his decommitment from Notre Dame, and why he fits so well in Alabama's offense. He's particularly impressed by new Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, who he says is "dominant at putting quarterbacks in the NFL."

I think AL and LA are two states that wont allow the pads on during these events.

Every year Nike's "The Opening" brings out almost all of the top high school seniors in the nation, in addition to a few elite juniors. Tuesday, top wide receivers and defensive backs took center stage in one-on-one drills.

Some of the most impressive performers on the offensive side of the ball were WR Pompano Beach (FL) Monarch Calvin Ridley (Alabama commit), Hampton (GA) Lovejoy WR Preston Williams (Tennessee commit), and Townson (MD Calvert Hall WR Lawrence Cager. On the defensive side of the football, Long Beach (CA) Poly CB Iman Marshall and Jersey City (NJ) St. Peters Prep CB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama commit) stood out in the drills.

You have to skip to 4:19 before the first Bama commit, Calvin Ridley, shows up. Deionte Thompson also lost two reps around the 5:20 mark.

Finally reading through the Blue Board thread on 247. A couple thoughts:

-Burrell most technically sound.
-Warmack got beasted by Mack.
-Reading the comments made by the posters on 247 makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

QB Blake Barnett tells me being on same team as fellow Bama commit WR Calvin Ridley helps develop chemistry before they head to Tuscaloosa.
