You have the #3 pro-style QB by 247 Composite (65 overall) already enrolled this year, plus Coker. You got the #5 pro-style last year (87 overall) plus a pretty damn good one accepting a walk-on (who transferred out.) You had the top pro-style of 2015 committed before changing circumstances led him to commit to the team he grew up cheering for. I think, while y'all got a slow start on the dynasty QB recruiting following the 2009 title, you're still coming about as close to an embarrassment of riches as any program in the country in terms of quantity of quality.
And, let's face it, before Nussmeier came in. Bama hardly had a reputation for potent quarterback-led offenses under Saban. It was decent, but the focus on a punishing ground game, line play, and unyielding defenses pretty much overshadowed the passing game.
Knowing all that, why are QB's committing to complete shite shows then? If we run the ball too much then wtf is Storey committed to Bielema for?

When will you finally get that not every kid wants to go to Alabama and that kids sometimes want to stay home?

No offense but you make it seem like Bama is the only logical choice for a recruit.

I got a late start to the day.
I'll try to watch his film during my lunch break. I posted his profile and highlights on the first page when you mentioned him the other day.

We got CBs for Bradrick Shaw and Jake Fruhmorgen on Monday.
Is anyone else having trouble seeing up to date predictions? I click the link on 247 and it goes back to Monday's predictions even though it shows some from today on the homepage.

I mean we are in the middle of a dynasty run, with the top coach in America, at a tradition rich program, with a QB who just finished 2nd in the heisman, an offensive coordinator who is a hot name, an a successful offense that is what these guys will be running on Sundays as well.
QB recruitment nowadays (unless you are a tradition rich program at NFL QBs like USCw) is all about opportunity for most elite kids. That is why the yr AJ graduates even after an OC change Bama was able to pull in 1 elite (and I really think Cornwell will be a fabulous QB in the future) EE and a high-profile transfer with little ease...there's opportunity right now.
Most kids know they will be found out like Bortles at UCF or Flacco, or Tony Romo, or Phillip Rivers.
Hell Michigan, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee had 3 of the most successful QBs in the history of the game and still struggle finding a QB. Yet USCw had a couple players win a Heisman never came CLOSE to the level of any of those 3 above I mentioned in the League and they recruit QBs better than any other school has the last couple decades.
QB recruitment, unless you have a really good developer of talent in your program, is like pulling teeth for every college program.

LaMichael Pettway (tPOS) is originally from Alabama:
He's also related to DJ Pettway (tPOS):

quote:
“Alabama is my birthplace and I grew up high on them my whole life. One of my long term goals has been to go to school there.
“Alabama is pretty high for me. I don’t have any leaders, but they are up there. Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Florida State are all on me pretty hard.”
He's also related to DJ Pettway (tPOS):
quote:
“I talked to T.J. Yeldon and I talked to my cousin D.J. Pettway now that he is back enrolled up there. I talked to a couple more people, but I can’t remember their names. It was great getting to talk with all of the players”

The point I was trying to make is that Bama's success didn't, in itself, make them a clear-cut favorite for any random top-rated quarterback. If you questioned why Winston chose FSU over Bama, I'd say that's a legitimate topic of discussion because he was a local kid with extra incentive. But Bama's reputation rested (and rests, really) on other factors. A top-ranked RB certainly has to seriously consider Bama, for instance, as does a top-ranked LB or OL or DL. Which is why Bama recruits very well in these areas. But a top-ranked pro-style QB, until recently, didn't have quite as much incentive to come to Bama(and even currently, considering that McCarron has yet to make an impact in the NFL, I have no idea where JPW is right now, and McElroy, while highly underrated with the Jets(imho) never really cracked the rotation above 3rd string except when injuries were killing them.) But that's obviously changing with the more dynamic post-McElwain offenses, given that Bama is actually recruiting quite well in the QB arena right now.

It doesn't help when dumbasses related to the NFL draft want to take Blake Ive never accomplished anything Bortles over AJ.
Bortles is the hot name for this draft, he's the size of a TE playing QB and you are right but the guy who had a great career but not prototypical size (again Tom Bradyesque) won't wow the scouts but I believe in the right system AJ will have some NFL success

That Preston kid, 6'5 stud WR out of Lovejoy High is a Alabama legacy. Why does he hate/dislike Alabama so much?
