LANCE THOMPSON
Thompson has been an assistant coaching veteran in the South since the late 80s. He spent most of his early coaching years at Georgia Tech under George O’Leary. He then had coaching stints at Alabama, LSU, and Central Florida. Thompson spent three seasons at Tennessee before returning to the Crimson Tide for the third time. In this exercise he recruited players drafted from both Tennessee and Alabama. Thompson had drafted players earlier this month that he was responsible for in Daniel McCullers (Tennessee), C.J. Mosley, and A.J. McCarron. In 2013, he recruited draftees D.J. Fluker and Nico Johnson. In 2012, Thompson recruited picks Malik Jackson (Tennessee), Mark Barron, and Trent Richardson. That’s an impressive list of drafted players over the last three drafts for this Alabama linebacker’s coach.

Dallas warmack on UGA

On Georgia“I have a chance to start freshman year at center. They don’t have a lot of depth there right now.”

Official visits will be big in the fall, Warmack says, and he has a few schools he knows he will like to visit.

“Georgia, Auburn, not sure on Alabama, I have been there so much,” he said. "South Carolina, Ole Miss and maybe one to the west coast, like USC.”

Having an older brother that has been through the process, Warmack says the two talk often about it.

“I talked to him a lot about it, he just tells me to stay focused on my grades,” he said.

There may be some jabbing from the older Warmack if in the end he does not end up at Alabama, he says.

“He would make fun of me for a minute. But he just wants me to be happy,” he said.

There is one other Atlanta-area player other than Patrick that Warmack says he wants to play with on the next level, and that is current Alabama commit Jonathan Ledbetterfrom Tucker.

“It would have to be Jon. He is amazing. He is so big and fast,” Warmack said. "I talk to him a lot. We have a group message between me, Natrez, Chauncey (Rivers) and him. We talk like every day.”

I don't like the sound of that last paragraph. I know Ledbetter is technically committed to Bama, but does anyone really consider him a commit?

His recruitment is a head scratcher for sure.

Honestly I havent heard anything with him and our staff in a while. Reading up on our staff going to see different recruits, I never see his name as one of them.

Sounds like he will make it in.. Hopefully
