OFFENSE

Crob cant be called a done deal yet, but it is looking like it will be

Dominick Jackson cant get here soon enough, will get a long look at RG and RT

JC Hassenauer will likely forego a redshirt and be the backup at center

Grant Hill still has the opportunity to find a starting job

Coker was the worst kept secret in the history of Alabama football (like we didnt know this)

Bateman has closed som eof the gap behind Sims, doing well with Kiffin

TJ has to hold onto the damn ball

Drake is considered to have an extremely high ceiling form NFL scouts, he cant frick up this year

D Henry is gonna blow up, we iwll see how many carries he takes from Yeldon and Drake

Cooper will be getting the ball until he is stopped

Howard will also be a primary target

We dare you to try and cover Flournoy_Smith on one side and OJ Howard on the other

Deandrew White stayed because he loved Kiffin

Stewart is a WR, one of the fastest, prob wont see much PT this year but will moving forward

Robert FOster is coming off as the heir apparent to Coop

After a week that saw New Smyrna Beach (Fla.) offensive tackle Jalen Merrick pick up offers from Alabama, Miami, Ohio State, Wisconsin, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound former basketball player maintains the same three SEC East schools stand out currently.

"No real top schools or leaders, but I really like [South Carolina], Florida and Georgia," Merrick told 247Sports. "Definitely stops when I go on visits this summer."

247Sports currently rates Merrick a three-star prospect with an 88 grade.

Minutes before the commencement of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday, top 100 offensive tackle Drew Richmond tweeted that he spoke with Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who was in the draft's green room with Crimson Tide players. The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder gave his take on the conversation with Saban.

"He just told me he wanted to see me up there in a couple of years coming from Alabama. He was up there with Cyrus (Kouandjio) and Ha Ha (Clinton-Dix). I was excited to talk to Coach Saban while he was at the draft. That was special," detailed Richmond.

"I love Alabama. It just feels good to know that we talked."

I like this kid. He could be our LT for this class. He is announcing on September 9th.

yessirree 3 year starter & top 10 pick IMO

quote:

Dominick Jackson cant get here soon enough, will get a long look at RG and RT

Says a lot to how impactful they expect him to be...It is very hard to jump in & get the PT on the OL with that little time

quote:

JC Hassenauer will likely forego a redshirt and be the backup at center

yep he is a beast

quote:

Grant Hill still has the opportunity to find a starting job

He seems like one of those "jack of all trades" utility OL

quote:

Coker was the worst kept secret in the history of Alabama football (like we didnt know this)

Well...duh

quote:

Bateman has closed som eof the gap behind Sims, doing well with Kiffin

more duh

quote:

TJ has to hold onto the damn ball

I'm gonna reserve my opinion on this...Kiffin loves to run the damn ball so a fumble will likely quickly piss off LK

quote:

Drake is considered to have an extremely high ceiling form NFL scouts, he cant frick up this year

I was told not to be surprised if Drake not only leaves after this year, but Bama has 2 RB's go in the first 2 rounds of next year's draft...now think about that statement, a RB didn't go until the 3rd round this year (it was a record). That came from a friend who is a scout for a team in Fla, NFL Scouts LOVE the skillset Drake has, he's just a bonehead.

quote:

D Henry is gonna blow up, we iwll see how many carries he takes from Yeldon and Drake

I still think we will have a great rotation and it will end up pretty even at the end of the year barring injury.

quote:

Cooper will be getting the ball until he is stopped

quote:

Howard will also be a primary target

THANK GODD!!!!!!

quote:

We dare you to try and cover Flournoy_Smith on one side and OJ Howard on the other

I'm also excited with TFS's versatility to plug him in at Hback also and let Kiffin get innovative

quote:

Deandrew White stayed because he loved Kiffin

Heard that as well...He schemes guys open at WR

quote:

Stewart is a WR, one of the fastest, prob wont see much PT this year but will moving forward

He will be a superstar before his time is over at the Capstone...He spent half his time on Defense in the secondary this Spring & STILL made an impact once he moved back over to WR

quote:

Robert FOster is coming off as the heir apparent to Coop

Figured that...I expect to see him plugged in sort of in a K.Bell type role this year as an inline WR

The War Room also said that sources believe Montel McBride will not have the grades to enroll and is probably headed to JUCO or prep school.

A bunch of our players posted tributes to their mothers yesterday. Here are the pics:

Some are more hopeful than others about EJ, maybe makes it back for WV a couple weeks early to practice, but likely will not be 100% by WVU

I don't expect him to make it back that early which sucks but others have amazed me in Bama's rehab program. At his position he doesn't need to push it and come back early though IMO

quote:

Tony Brown can likely start, and has 26 practices to prove he is the man.

He IS the man...26 practices is PLENTY of time

quote:

Sylve can be a breakout player if he gets over injuries, Maurice Smith is also doing well

We need 1 or 2 others to excel this year

quote:

Humphrey has as high of an upside as Brown, according to some sources, look for him to impact the depth chart, he has been studying the defense since the day he signed

If Marlon Humphrey is comfortable with the playbook, his technique is already there. I wouldn't be surprised to see him early and often in the bondary corner rotation

quote:

Nosegaurd will vary according to the teams, Ivory good for the run, but not the spread

In Bo I trust

quote:

Reed and Pettway should blow up

The "New 57" should make a major impact from the edge this year

quote:

The HAND and Evans are too good to keep off the field, they will have roles respectively

I could easily see Hand in the rotation, Evans has the skillset, just not sure about the size yet, but if he is the right size...oh my

quote:

SDH and Hootie had great springs but will likely not impact the team much this year

Everyone heard great things all Spring so not surprising, Bama is just stacked at both positions this year

quote:

Reggie and Reuben continue to compete, Reuben has the edge in talent, but the health is a concern. Ragland is a natural OLB but has made strides.

Injuries will continue to be an issue for Reuben as long as he continues trying to take every person with the ball's head off. I was very impressed at what I saw from Ragland at Aday, he seems to have turned a corner, expecting a big impact from him this year to help the loss of Mosley.

quote:

Lee is the most knowledgeable LB on Campus behind DePriest

Another huge impact guy, just also a bonehead, hopefully he can mature a bit & earn Saban & Kirby's trust, sky is the limit with him.

quote:

Devall is our best OLB, will see time at Jack and Sam. Scenarios for OLBs: Dillon Lee - Sam, Devall - Jack OR Devall - Sam and Dickson - Jack

I was extremely surprised last year by how much less Devall played (seemed to boil down to some sort of hope that Adrian Hubbard would pan out & he played horrible all year). I can only hope the reigns are now off & he is allowed to have starter minutes because he can be an impact player.

quote:

Geno Smith is making strides and may end up being the starter next to Collins if he keeps it up

Sorry love Geno as the Money, but DO.NOT.WANT.
