On Thursday, Alabama assistant Mario Cristobal, currently ranked No. 1 in the 247Sports recruiter rankings, stopped by several schools in Miami. He saw 4-star WR Da'Vante Phillips at Central, DaVante Davis at Booker T Washington, 4-star safety Jaquan Johnson at Killian, 3-star DB Carlton Davis at Norland and 4-star WR Jovon Durante. Phillips is a heavy lean to Florida State. Johnson favors Miami. Davis slightly favors South Carolina over Alabama, Florida and Miami. The Crystal Ball says Alabama holds a 93-percent advantage for Durante.

Super Mario.

Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's four-star cornerback Jalen Thompson is a prospect that we have previously mentioned as being evaluated by the Seminoles. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back is now hoping that Florida State comes through with an offer.

Thompson has numerous offers, including his top three of Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The Gators are currently considered the favorites for his services.

Florida State has had past success at St. Paul's. They landed former quarterback Jacob Coker out of the school as part of the 2011 class.

This was from the Florida State 247 site, but when asked if Thompson really had an Alabama offer Tim Watts said he doesn't have one. He is still being evaluated.

HaHa commented on it, provided other pictures as well. He was in a crowded lobby eating. It's a tissue.

I'm still buttmad that we passed on Dennard, and had Cooks going right around where he went.

I'll admit I was a little ticked when we passed on Dennard, but then I started to watch some of Cooks' film and I was extremely impressed. He will do big things in our offense.

Having said that I would be in a much better mood today if we had taken HaHa or Dennard.

I saw a lot of people wanting us to take HaHa. Didn't make sense to me. Cooks is a great pick, I just didn't see it as a steal.

Like Gruden said before we picked, Rob Ryan likes to have 3 safeties on the field at the same time and Vaccaro is coming off an injury. I know we still have Bush, but HaHa could have been an excellent addition to our defensive backfield.

True. I'm happy with him ending up in GB though. I think he and Mosley are gonna be in it for DRotY.

He's talented enough to go that high.

The first guy I'd want is SJB, but he probably won't be there.

And yeah, I think C-Rob has the talent/upside to become a top 5, maybe top 3 pick. I just hope he's properly developed and doesn't come down with injury problems.

I think a lot of guys from this recruiting class we just signed are comparable to a lot of the top guys in the current draft class. What about you?
