Good thing we got Evans because Hand will be with the DL from day 1 at that weight

This is what scout says about Kris Boyd:
An elite level athlete with tremendous burst and top-end speed. He plays both ways in high school at RB/WR and CB, but figures to be a defensive player by most once he gets to college and has a desire to play defense in college. He has turn and run ability and his size at the position gives him an advantage in one-on-one coverage against big, elite level wide receivers. All of those skills will make him a very high level rated prospect.

From Magilla on Keaton Anderson:

Bone says it will shock him if he commits to Tennessee and is a definite take for Bama.

I saw a pic of Hand and Matthew Burrell the other day. No way he is that heavy.

I've always thought Hand would be with the DL from day 1. He is about the same body type as Jon Allen. Those two guys could become the best bookends we've seen since Curry & Copeland.
anybody know off the top of their head what number Hand will wear?

Five-star junior defensive tackle Tim Settle of Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Va., named his top 15 college choices in order Thursday afternoon, revealing that Tennessee is his current leader.
The Vols are followed on Settle's list, in order, by Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Texas, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia and UCLA. North Carolina, N.C. State, LSU, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma round out his top 15.

So when we stomp the Viles 52-0, will he commit to us?

I think we've sort of expected Hand to end up at DE. If he's a legit 280 now, that's interesting. You'd think he'd only get bigger over time. He's still got the long arms, the athletic ability, but would he have it at 300lbs? 270-280 is where I'd like him in our defense. If he bulks up too much he loses the athleticism.
And this class is full of physical freaks who could walk into the NFL Combine and be confused for NFL rookies. David Cornwell, Bo Scarbrough, Da'Shawn Hand, Cameron Robinson, Jarran Reed, Tony Brown, Hootie Jones, and Cam Sims.

What's odd is that Bone said last night that Settle hasn't talked to the Alabama staff in some time.

Manassas (Va.) Stronewall Jackson DT Tim Settle released his top 15 schools in order today with Alabama no. 2, behind Tennessee. The 6-foot-3, 325-pounder last visited Tuscaloosa for camp last summer. Clemson, Florida State, and Texas round out his top five, in order.
Settle is friends and training partners with 2014 Tide signee Da'Shawn Hand as well as fellow 2015 Bama target, Matthew Burrell. The Tide lead in Settle's Crystal Ball, with 37% of the picks with Ohio State (not in his top 15) with 20% and in-state Virginia with 20%. He ranks as the no. 19 overall prospect, and no. 6 DT in the 2015 cycle according to the 247Sports Composite.

Alabama was by to see 5-star Texas A&M commit Daylon Mack today. The 6-foot-2, 310-pounder has been committed to the Aggies since October of 2013, but continues to be recruited by a bevy of programs and took an unofficial visit to Auburn during the offseason.
Mack ranks as the no. 10 overall prospect, no. 2 defensive tackle, and no. 2 prospect in the state of Texas according to the 247Sports Composite.
