Charles Power said he got a feeling that 2016 5-star QB Jacob Eason is leaning towards playing in the SEC after their conversation yesterday.

I want to believe, but damn it I don't want to be Town'd again.

Bold. How so?
Are you going to do a longer qb eval on him like you do with the others? Curious to see what you think his strengths/weaknesses are.
And with that endorsement, I'm off to watch his film. I haven't started watching any 2016 film yet.

I just realized that 7 of the top 20 for 2016 are OTs.
With this class being a little lower on OT talent I wonder how many we will take this year? Seems like all of the good OTs are headed elsewhere.

Bobo flew out to Washington to watch him throw and give him an offer a couple weeks back. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't think there was a good chance he'd head east.

Nick Saban has been holding video conferences with several of the nation's top recruits this week, with Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier 5-star linebacker Justin Hilliard being the latest to reveal he Skyped with the Alabama head coach. Saban has also spoken with 5-star linebacker Malik Jefferson and 5-star DE Byron Cowart this week. Hilliard first visited Tuscaloosa on the weekend of April 5 and has been visited by Tide assistant Bobby Williams this month.

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin has been on the west coast recruiting this week and watched top 50 quarterback Travis Waller throw on Monday. The Anaheim (Calif.) Servite signal caller spoke with Kiffin via phone later in the day.
"I shot Coach Kiffin a call after. That was actually the first time I’ve talked to him. We talked and I asked him how I did. He said I did extremely good, actually. He said my mechanics got a lot better since last year, which is a good thing. He said the ball came out good," detailed Waller.
"I know they need a mobile quarterback, who when he’s in trouble can get out of that and make a good play happen. That’s one of the things that’s developing in college football with quarterbacks. He said he needs a mobile quarterback who can get out of the pocket, look down field, and throw and take off if he needs to."
What does Waller think about Alabama?
"It’s obviously a powerhouse and a talented team. For sure, the quarterback needs to be one of the leaders of the team and lead at all times, so it’s a big spot to be in with a big team like Alabama that everyone knows about. They need a guy to step up and be the man of the team."

We've gotten 3 CBs for Nick Gibson this morning, including ones from Lucky and JC Shurburtt.
I haven't seen anything regarding him lately, but that is 4 CBs in the last 24 hours.
Somebody must know something.

I do plan on giving Eason the "full on treatment" but I don't know when just yet.
Off an initial watch I can tell you that his arm is stronger than Towns. I will compare them side by side when I watch Eason's film again.

By the way, someone started a thread on BOL asking for a comparison between Eason and Town (was that you?).
This was Charles Power's response:
quote:
Think they're both elite. Eason is a little more of a natural passer/+ arm while Town is thicker physically at the same stage and would have the edge in terms of polish working in the pocket and under center- drops, playfakes, etc. Both are very accurate, which you love to see in a top quarterback.
