These are the 247 analyst's grades on his skillset:

quote:

Skills

Size 9.00 out of 10
Pass Blocking 5.00 out of 10
Feet 5.00 out of 10
Body Quickness 6.00 out of 10
Lateral Movement 5.00 out of 10
Run Blocking 7.00 out of 10 Punch 7.00 out of 10
Strength 7.00 out of 10

He is big. That's his only real positive attribute.

I just noticed that as well when I looked at his profile.. But like what was said earlier, there are a lot of other O-lineman I like way ahead of him

David Sills doesn't look impressive on film. Sorry.

If we can't get Brady White, we need to probably just sit this one out. I don't get why we have to waste a scholarship.. just because.

I like at least five offensive tackles more.

No fricking way he is a Tackle.

He wouldn't even be the next in-state Guard on my list after Cotton. That would be Darryll Williams from Bessemer. This is what 247 had to say about his performance at the Birmingham NFTC event:

quote:

Darryll Williams, OC, Bessmer (Ala.) Bessemer City
***Top performer candidate***
Sunday was a big day for Williams as he emerged from an under the radar type of recruit to earn an invite to The Opening. We loved the way Williams competed. He challenged five-star Daron Payne and largely dominated him. As a center or guard, don’t be surprised if he has a similar rise to what we saw out of JC Hassenauer out of the 2014 class.

Love that Hassenauer comparison.

What? He looks good. Not elite, but certainly better than his ranking.

I would love to get White, but we haven't offered and he hasn't visited.

This is what they had to say about Carr after the Birmingham event:

quote:

Tyler Carr, OG, Gadsden (Ala.) Southside
Carr is massive. Walking into camp, he stands out even among the offensive linemen so he’s got the frame to work with. We see him more as an inside guy than an outside guy and that body should serve him well there. There’s room for improvement with his feet and his punch but his ability to move at his size is unique.

So, again, he's big.

Michael Jackson, CB, Birmingham (Ala.) Spain Park
One of the real pleasant surprises of the event, Jackson currently has only a Troy offer but he looked like an SEC level defensive back. He has a big frame, showed good hips and has ball skills. His recruitment could blow up this spring.

Michael Jackson Highlights

Anybody from Birmingham know about this kid? He's got an awesome name.

What I gathered from that video is that Cotton isn't rated high enough. He absolutely stoned everyone except for Payne on one attempt. Tyler Carr knows how to hold and he sucked at it. Not impressed. The Williams kid looks legit, too.

The guy that put in the CB for Leo Lewis today switched his pick from Mississippi State to Bama. I find it interesting that he did it today seeing as Lewis will be in Starkville this weekend.
