With so many players opting out of their bowl games, coaches should treat this as a "Spring" game. Seniors and all those entering the draft should not be eligible to participate. Basically, you're playing the game with next year players. They would get an extra month of practice and actual game time experience. This might make games more interesting to everyone!
This doesn't include the playoff teams!

With NIL, portal, players skipping the bowl game, upcoming 12 team playoff, that seems to be the direction we're going.
Many of the bowls may disappear due to all the reasons listed.

So, you are saying that a player that committed to the University of Alabama, stayed 4 or 5 years, worked his way up the depth chart to finally get some playing time his senior year should be told to get the hell out of here so some of our younger players can "practice" for next year.

What kind of messed up crap are you spitting? I would give my left nut to put on a helmet again and get out there and you want to rob them of their last opportunity to run out on the field and play for the Crimson and White?

What kind of message does that send? You can go suck a dick.

I don't know about that, but they should remove any restrictions that might relate to redshirts — that is, these jamboree-style bowl games (with forced rosters of non-starters anyway) shouldn't count towards the four-game limit.

A guy like Ty Simpson should be able to freely play in the Sugar Bowl and preserve his redshirt, especially if Bryce Young sits out and there are only two QBs left on the roster.
